Job 8:7
in the Contemporary English Version confirms in scripture the word that I was
given.
“Your future will be brighter by far than your past.”
Can somebody say “Hallelujah!!”
Those eight words
resonated in my spirit and have constantly been on my mind since that
moment.
Here are seven things
which will make your future better than your past.
1) I Will Continue To Look Unto Him.
Psalm
123:1 in the New King James Version says:
“Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens.”
I have
sought answers elsewhere.
I looked
in the realm of the flesh and found nothing.
Here’s
an absolute.
Never
look to a man or woman for an answer to a question that God should and can
answer for you.
When we
look to God. . . He gives us peace in the midst of every storm. . . no matter
how intense.
Philippians
4:7 in the New Living Translation says:
“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we
can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in
Christ Jesus.”
Isaiah
26:3 in the Amplified Bible says:
“You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace
whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because
he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.”
In those
moments of genuine honesty, I recall God as the Only Answer and the One who
gives me peace in the midst of every storm.
2) Seek His Best Until I Receive His
Best.
Psalm
123:3 in the New King James Version says:
“Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their
masters, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to
the LORD our God, Until He has mercy on us.”
I hear
some things in Christian Music that trouble me.
Virtually
every segment of Christianity has adopted modern praise and worship.
But I
hear too much "He gives and takes away" type of thinking in
the songs that reflect denominationalism.
The God I
serve is constantly seeking to position me in such a way that I qualify for His
best and sorrow is removed.
Proverbs
10:22 in Classic Amplified Bible personalized says:
“The blessing of the Lord — it makes <<Your Name>>
[truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase
it].”
The only
thing God desires for me is His best. This requires that I fervently seek
His best. When I do, His best is mine.
3) Contend For The Faith.
Jude 1:3
in the New King James Version says:
“Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning
our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to
contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the
saints.”
We must
be people of strong faith.
So very
many things compete for our attention.
Family
needs cry out in the midst of work demands.
We must fight for our focus. We must "fight the good
fight."
We must
choose to contend, literally fight, to maintain a posture of strong faith.
We also
must speak with our mouth what is living in our hearts.
Romans
10:8 in the Classic Amplified Bible says:
“But what does it say? The Word (God’s message in Christ) is
near you, on your lips and in your heart; that is, the Word (the message, the
basis and object) of faith which we preach.”
4) Pray In The Holy Spirit.
Jude 1:20
in the New King James Version says:
“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy
faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.”
I am
determined to pray in the Spirit more than ever.
Yes, I am
speaking of the Holy Spirit directed and empowered prayer.
I am also
speaking of allowing the perfect prayer to flow through me as I pray in
tongues.
We have a
supernatural relationship with our God. It only makes sense that we
communicate with Him in a supernatural manner.

Corinthians 14:2 in the Classic Amplified Bible says:
“For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but
to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy]
Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the
understanding].”
5) The Love Of God Knows No Boundaries.
Jude 1:21
in The Living Bible says:
“Stay always within the boundaries where God’s love can reach
and bless you. . .”
The good
thing about the boundaries of God’s love is they are unlimited.
Proverbs
4:23 says:
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues
of life.”
According
to Strong’s Concordance the Hebrew word for issues is
(tote sa uff) tō·tsä·ä (H8444) is a real estate term and it means: “borders, the
parameters”
Your
heart sets the borders of your life.
The
outside circumstances don’t set the borders of your life; it’s what’s in your
heart that sets the boundaries or determines the course of your life.
The New
Living Translation of Proverbs 4:23 says:
“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course
of your life.”
Consider
this thought. . . when you are sharing the love
of God or meditating on a rhema revelation from the Word of God. . . then you are expanding the borders of your life.
6) Sow Mercy Unto Others.
Jude 1:21
in The Living Bible concludes by saying:
“. . . Wait patiently for the eternal life that our Lord Jesus Christ
in his mercy is going to give you.”
I need
the mercy of God.
I need
God’s compassion rather than His judgment.
I believe
the oldest law in the Bible is that of sowing and reaping.
I hope to
never need mercy again in the sense of compassion to remedy failing.
However,
it is likely I will. Because of this I will consciously sow mercy to those
who have failed God.
Mercy is
properly defined as: “Divine favor or compassion”
In order
to reap mercy, we must be merciful to others . . . especially
those who are undeserving of our mercy.
Matthew
5:7 in the Amplified Bible, Classic Edition says:
“Blessed
(happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous — with life-joy and satisfaction
in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the
merciful, for they shall obtain mercy!”
If we sow
mercy. . . we will reap God’s favor and salvation no matter what our
circumstances may be.
If we
don’t sow mercy. . . we will most assuredly not reap mercy.
7) I Will Be Kept Safe By The Wisdom And
Ability Of God.
Jude
1:24-25 Classic Amplified Bible says:
“Now to Him Who is able to keep you without stumbling or
slipping or falling, and to present [you] unblemished (blameless and faultless)
before the presence of His glory in triumphant joy and exultation [with
unspeakable, ecstatic delight] —
25 To the one only God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our
Lord, be glory (splendor), majesty, might and dominion, and power and authority,
before all time and now and forever (unto all the ages of eternity). Amen (so
be it).”
God is
able to keep me and you, for that matter, from stumbling . . . slipping. . .
falling and to bring us into His glorious presence with a single fault.
Can
somebody say “Hallelujah?!”
An
insatiable appetite for the Word of God. . . will increase our wisdom by His
Word. . . and keep us more fully in His presence. . . so we can become more
like Him.
I am
certain His wisdom and ability will become mine as I become more like Him.
If we can
get a hold of the revelation that our future is better than our past then we
will flow in an incredible revelatory insight with supernatural favor.
