OUT OF THE DEPTHS - Everyone faces hardships and overwhelming circumstances, many of which we cannot control. The challenge of faith is this: that even though we find ourselves in deep despair due to circumstances and the doubts that arise in us, we continue facing toward God. No matter our circumstances, we cry out to Him and know that He will answer us. He will not abandon us. When you find yourself in the depths of despair, turn toward God, not toward your circumstances. The God of the universe will hear your cry, and the deepest depths are not too deep for Him. - “Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD; Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. … I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning—yes, more than those who watch for the morning” - Have you ever been there? In the depths? Have you ever felt so overwhelmed by life and its circumstances that you felt as if you were in the deepest, darkest pit? The psalmist did. And he cried out to the Lord. This is actually an amazing statement by the psalmist, because when you find yourself in the depths, one of the hardest things to do is cry out to God. You may think that sounds strange. Perhaps you think that the natural cry should be to God. And it should. The problem, however, is that when we find ourselves in the depths, we stand on the edge of despair.

Out of the Depths

Everyone faces hardships and overwhelming circumstances, many of which we cannot control

“Out of the depths I have cried to You, O LORD; Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. … I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning—yes, more than those who watch for the morning” - (Psalm 130:1-2, 5-6 NKJV).

Have you ever been there?

In the depths?

Have you ever felt so overwhelmed by life and its circumstances that you felt as if you were in the deepest, darkest pit?

The psalmist did. And he cried out to the Lord.

This is actually an amazing statement by the psalmist, because when you find yourself in the depths, one of the hardest things to do is cry out to God.

You may think that sounds strange. Perhaps you think that the natural cry should be to God. And it should.

The problem, however, is that when we find ourselves in the depths, we stand on the edge of despair.

Circumstances overwhelm us like violent waves of the ocean. At first, we may find the strength to face the challenges and hardships, but eventually, even inside of us, we begin to faint, wear down, and despair.

Faith is not just believing God in the good times or even the mildly bad times; faith is crying out to God from the deepest depths of despair, when everything outside of us and inside of us feels like things are hopeless.

When we can cry out to God in that moment, pleading with Him to hear our cry, that is the genuine test of our faith.

Everyone faces hardships and overwhelming circumstances, many of which we cannot control.

The challenge of faith is this: that even though we find ourselves in deep despair due to circumstances and the doubts that arise in us, we continue facing toward God.

No matter our circumstances, we cry out to Him and know that He will answer us. He will not abandon us.

The psalmist didn’t allow his circumstances to consume him, nor did he buy into the thought that his circumstances separated him from God’s being able to hear him.

From the depths, he called out to the Lord because the God of the Bible is near to the cry of His people.

When you find yourself in the depths of despair, turn toward God, not toward your circumstances.

That doesn’t mean that the hardship, difficulty, or pain will subside.

It does mean that the God of the universe will hear your cry, and the deepest depths are not too deep for Him.

PRAYER

Father, hear our cry. Give ear to our plea today. Amen.

THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH - We don’t fight for salvation, but we do have a fight against the enemy (the forces of hell), against our flesh and the carnality of the world, and against those who would try to deceive or distract us. Distractions are both very worldly lost people and very religious lost people. It is a fight to live in this world. We are to be laying hold of our eternal life - the Lord Jesus won it for us, but we have to take it and we have to keep it. Knowing Jesus is a relationship with God - relationships require regular time together, knowing each other, and caring. We are accountable for everything we do while we are in our bodies. We are to come out of the world, not do the same things lost people do. We are to be separate, and we are to be clean. Life is a battle, it’s a fight, in fact, it’s a good fight that’s because we WIN! “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” The Bible talks about fighting the good fight of faith in 1 Timothy 6:12. A read of the passage is quite revealing. Followers of Jesus Christ are supposed to grab hold of salvation. We don’t fight for salvation, but we do have to receive Jesus. However, we do have a fight against the enemy (the forces of hell), against our flesh and the carnality of the world, and against those who would try to deceive or distract us. Distractions are both very worldly lost people and very religious lost people. It is a fight to live in this world.

The Good Fight Of Faith

What Is The Good Fight Of Faith In The Bible?

“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. - 1 Timothy 6:12 The New King James Version

The Bible talks about fighting the good fight of faith in 1 Timothy 6:12.

However, we are to be laying hold of our eternal life.

It’s there, the Lord Jesus won it for us, but we have to take it and we have to keep it.

Once Saved Always Saved?

There are those who teach that once a Christian is saved by accepting Jesus, they are always saved.

They have Bible verses they use to prove their point, but these folks have missed the point.

We must remember that knowing Jesus is a relationship with God, not a train ticket.

Relationships require regular time together, knowing each other, and caring.

We are accountable for everything we do while we are in our bodies.

We are told in 2 Corinthians 6:17 that followers of Jesus are supposed to come out of the world, not do the same things lost people do.

We are to be separate, and we are to be clean.

Why? So that God will accept us is what verse 17 tells us.

As a committed Christian, you must live each day walking by faith (Galatians 3:11).

Life is a battle, it’s a fight, in fact, it’s a good fight that’s because we WIN!

John lays it out brilliantly saying,

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” - 1 John 5:4-5

The Word of God is the Bible.  The Bible is God’s Word to you for living victoriously every day. Why are we called Faith Pro? Faith pro is short for “Faith Professional”. Translation, Bible believing Christian. When you walk in faith, you become stronger and stronger in your relationship with God.

Purpose
The purpose of FaithPro.org is to show people that God has answered all the questions of life in His Word which is the Bible.  A wise person once said, “The better you know the Word of God, the better you shall know the God of the Word”.

God Teaches You Through The Holy Spirit
We encourage you to ask for the Holy Spirit to teach you as you see the answers to the questions of life   on FP and look the scriptures up for yourself.   Also, remember Jesus said, that everything should be established by 2 or 3 witnesses.  That means, if you see it once, it is interesting.  If you see it more, then that is God speaking to you.  Doctrines based on one verse that loosely interpret that particular area will lead to spiritual shipwreck.

God bless you as you study, pray, and meditate the Word of God.

REFINED IN THE FIRE - Perhaps you feel like you’re in a refiner’s fire — feeling the heat of setbacks, illness, or other challenges. But hardship is often the process by which God purifies the gold of our faith. In our pain we might beg God to quickly end the process, but He knows what’s best for us, even when life hurts. Keep connected to the Savior, seeking His comfort and peace. We can embrace by faith the record of Scripture and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives as evidence of the truth of what we’ve not seen but believed “For we live by faith, not by sight” “These trials will show that your faith is genuine.” Twenty-four–karat gold is nearly 100 percent gold with few impurities. But that percentage is difficult to achieve. Refiners most commonly use one of two methods for the purification process. The Miller process is the quickest and least expensive, but the resulting gold is only about 99.95 percent pure. The Wohlwill process takes a little more time and costs more, but the gold produced is 99.99 percent pure. In Bible times, refiners used fire as a gold purifier. Fire caused impurities to rise to the surface for easier removal. In his first letter to believers in Jesus throughout Asia Minor (northern Turkey), the apostle Peter used the gold-refining process as a metaphor for the way trials work in the life of a believer. At that time, many believers were being persecuted by the Romans for their faith in Christ.

Trials and TemptationsTwenty-four–karat gold is nearly 100 percent gold with few impurities.
But that percentage is difficult to achieve.

The Miller process is the quickest and least expensive, but the resulting gold is only about 99.95 percent pure.
The Wohlwill process takes a little more time and costs more, but the gold produced is 99.99 percent pure.
1 Peter 1:7 | Refined by FireIn Bible times, refiners used fire as a gold purifier.

At that time, many believers were being persecuted by the Romans for their faith in Christ.
Peter knew what that was like firsthand.
But persecution, Peter explained, brings out the “genuineness of [our] faith” (1 Peter 1:7).
1 Peter 1:7Perhaps you feel like you’re in a refiner’s fire — feeling the heat of setbacks, illness, or other challenges.

What challenges have you faced that led to your growth? How did you respond to them?
Father God, help me see how the trials of my life bring out the gold in me.
INSIGHT
In 1 Peter 1:8, Peter is reinforcing an important idea that goes back to the gospel of John.
In John 20:29, the risen Christ said to Thomas, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Daily Bible Verses: 1 Peter 1:7That includes all in our generation who have followed Jesus.
While we weren’t present when He was physically on this earth, we can embrace by faith the record of Scripture (1 Corinthians 15:3–4) and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives (Romans 8:16) as evidence of the truth of what we’ve not seen but believed (John 16:13–15).
As Paul wrote, “For we live by faith, not by sight” - (2 Corinthians 5:7).
