BELIEVER’S AUTHORITY - There is a battle raging every single day in the spiritual realm - that battle is for your heart and the hearts of every other person on earth. God is trying to influence people and draw them toward righteousness and toward Himself, to live consistent with Him so that His blessings can manifest in their lives. Satan, on the other hand, is waging all-out war trying to steal the hearts of people away from God - Satan wants to fill their hearts with his trash and corruption. The choices you make, the things you say, the actions you take, and what you believe about what is happening around you determines whether God or Satan dominates in your life. To win in this war, you must know who you are and the authority you have as a believer - you can resist the devil - If there is someone who just rubs you the wrong way it may surprise you that it’s not really that person who is creating the rub. There is someone else at work — your real Enemy the Devil — and he may be using them in an attempt to gain an inroad to your life. There is a spiritual war going on, and as a believer, you must be aware of it. Many Christians do not realize the spiritual implication behind what is going on in their lives. What I mean is that they only look at things on a surface level. They think most everything they encounter on a daily basis is either physical or natural. The truth is, there is a battle raging every single day in the spiritual realm.

Is there someone in your life who just rubs you the wrong way?
If there is, it may surprise you to learn that it’s not really that person who is creating the rub.
The Believer's Authority – Part 1 - Grace Community - Faith Bible ...There is someone else at work — your real Enemy — and he may be using them in an attempt to gain an inroad to your life.
There is a spiritual war going on, and as a believer, you must be aware of it.
Many Christians have adopted a humanistic view of things. They do not realize the spiritual implication behind what is going on in their lives.
What I mean by humanistic is that they only look at things on a surface level.
They think most everything they encounter on a daily basis is either physical or natural.
Sermons | The Believers AuthorityThe truth is, there is a battle raging every single day in the spiritual realm.
That battle is for your heart and the hearts of every other person on earth.
God is trying to influence people and draw them toward righteousness and toward Himself, to live consistent with Him so that His blessings can manifest in their lives.
Satan, on the other hand, is waging all-out war trying to steal the hearts of people away from God.
He wants to fill their hearts with his trash and corruption.
And honestly, although most Christians recognize this to a degree, I don’t think they realize how intense the warfare really is and how much their actions are contributing to it.
If I could sit and talk with each of you reading this, I would find that many of you aren’t aware of the spiritual significance behind what’s going on in your lives.
The 700 Club on Twitter: "if you don't know what to do, just call on the name of Jesus.… "You attribute much of what is happening to circumstances and therefore passively accept what comes your way.
When you do that, you’re ignoring the intense battle that is being waged for your heart every single day.
The choices you make, the things you say, the actions you take, and what you believe about what is happening around you determines whether God or Satan dominates in your life.
Satan cannot control you outside of your will. He cannot do anything without your cooperation and consent.
But you need to recognize that you’re in a battle.
Many people choose not to believe that, but whether they do or not, the fact is that it’s taking place.
Welcome to Fairfield Baptist ChurchYour unwillingness to engage in battle doesn’t mean that the battle isn’t raging; it just means you’re going to lose.
But once you realize the battle is real, you can then learn to recognize what’s going on and take the proper action to improve your situation.
You can resist the devil.
James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Ephesians 6:10-12 reads, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
This is referring to demonic powers.
There’s a chain of command, an authority structure in the demonic realm, and this is listing these different levels.
But notice that it says you are not wrestling against flesh and blood. Much that goes on in your life is not just human.
I’m not going to get into this thing about, “Are people possessed, oppressed, or depressed?”
I believe it’s useless to debate that.
In the Greek, where the Bible says a person was demon possessed, the word literally means “demonized.”
The Believer's Authority-Faith in Action United - Community | FacebookIt just means they were under the control of the devil.
Christianity has tried to make something out of possessed, oppressed, or depressed. But it’s not in Scripture.
The fact is that people are being influenced and controlled and used by the devil — they really are.
This needs to be said because there are a lot of people who honestly believe that all the demons are in Africa.
It’s not the person sitting next to you at work, it’s not your neighbor, and it’s certainly not your husband or your wife that’s the problem.
Anyone who is not paying attention can be influenced and inspired and used of Satan to come against you.
If you were to recognize that, it would make a huge difference in the way you respond to them.
For instance, I get a lot of hate mail. There was a time when I took what was said personally.
Say this confession! But I’ve come to realize that Satan uses these in an attempt to get my attention off of what God has told me to do.
Now I look beyond the person, recognizing that Satan is just using them. That allows me to keep it in the right perspective.
I’ve had good friends come against me and do some pretty mean things.
And you know what? I was able to look right past what they did and forgive them. I could see that Satan was taking advantage of them to hurt me through some weak area in their lives.
When you finally see that, you don’t get angry or bitter with the person, and you are able to walk in forgiveness.
Then, when they do turn around, the relationship can be reestablished.
There are also times when you have to engage the Enemy directly, even if the Enemy is using a friend.
Believer's Authority Archives - Vivify BlogThat’s exactly what Jesus did when He rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind me, Satan.”
That was the same day Jesus asked Peter, “Who do you say I am?”
And Peter, inspired by the Holy Spirit, said, “You are the CHRIST, the Son of the living God.”
In Matthew 16:15-17, it says, “He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.”
After this, Jesus began to talk about what was going to happen to Him: “They’re going to take Me, they’re going to kill Me, and I will rise again on the third day.”
And this same Peter, who had been inspired and controlled by the Holy Spirit just moments before, began to rebuke Jesus, saying, “Be it far from You, Lord. This will never happen to You. I’m going to stand here, and the rest of us will defend You. But we are not going to allow this to happen to You.”
Then Jesus turned and spoke these words to Peter: “Get behind me, Satan.”
I’m sure Peter was shocked, but Jesus wasn’t really talking to him; He was talking about Satan to Satan, the one who was controlling Peter.
The Believer's Authority - Faith Outreach Center Intl.Peter’s words were not coming from God; they were inconsistent with the will of God.
Peter was being inspired and controlled by the devil in the things he said.
Now, that’s a pretty strong statement, and a lot of people honestly think this is a little over the top. They think they don’t need to respond to people this way.
But I can guarantee you that there are times when Satan is speaking directly to you through people. He is using people to get at you.
Whether you recognize it or not, this goes on much more than you know. You are in a spiritual war.
I tell you there is a supernatural war waging today for your heart and mind.
In fact, for some of you right now, the devil is trying to oppose the words you are reading in this letter.
He wants to discredit them and cause you to ignore or reject them.
THE AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER - BIBLE VERSES - THE TRUTH STANDS ...The Holy Spirit, on the other hand, is bearing witness in your heart and trying to get you to open up and receive these words. It’s spiritual warfare.
To win in this war, you must know who you are and the authority you have as a believer.
To help, I have a teaching series called The Believer’s Authority.
Don’t go another day without understanding how to defeat the real Enemy. You have the power and authority to do it, and now it’s time to use it.

Jamie and I are so thankful that our paths have crossed with yours. In fact, we believe it was a divine appointment. Over fifty years ago, an encounter with God changed our lives forever, and we believe that He’ll do the same for you. We consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to share the truth of His life-changing power and grace with you.
God called us to teach the truth of the gospel to the body of Christ with special emphasis on His unconditional love and the balance between grace and faith. We are doing our best to fulfill that call by teaching at conferences, in churches, on television, through podcasts, by training others at Charis Bible College, and by developing ministry materials to help you in your relationship with the Lord. We were once on the radio, but we have moved on to further-reaching mediums such as podcasts.

IT’S TIME TO DECLARE WAR - The book of Revelation figuratively depicts the war of Satan against God, against the Lamb of God and the saints of God. It is the struggle of good and evil, right and wrong, righteousness and unrighteousness. It is the eternal struggle that began in the garden of Eden. We read of Satan’s attack on Job, his work among the heathen nations and terrorist assaults against Israel. The New Testament begins with the Devil tempting Jesus and end with him influencing the minds of the religious leaders to crucify Christ. The Bible writers warn us against the Devil. The Devil is evil. He fills the world with wickedness. He spreads envy, jealousy and hate. He is a liar. And a murderer. And He has seduced the hearts of corrupt men and women to propagate his wave of destruction on the human race.

It’s Time To Declare War!
Ken Weliever

Last night in an impassioned Talking Points memo, Fox News Commentator, Bill O’Reilly, said it is time to declare war on ISIS and other Muslim terrorist groups.
Following the public beheading of two American journalists, James Foley and Steven Sotloff, O’Reilly called for Congress to formally declare war on Islamic terrorists and for the President to sign it
There can be no doubt that ISIS and those of their ilk are at war with us. In a recent video one of their soldiers looked into the camera and sneered “I say to America that the Islamic Caliphate has been established. And we will not stop… we will raise the flag of Allah in the White House.”
Yes, we are at war!
However, this war is only one aspect of a greater war.
In fact, it is actually symbolic of the real war that we’re facing. It is the war Satan is waging on all humanity.
The book of Revelation figuratively depicts the war of Satan against God, against the Lamb of God and the saints of God.
It is the struggle of good and evil, right and wrong, righteousness and unrighteousness. It is the eternal struggle that began in the garden of Eden.
In the Old Testament, we read of Satan’s attack on Job, his work among the heathen nations and terrorist assaults against Israel.
The Gospel accounts in the New Testament begin with the Devil tempting Jesus and end with him influencing the minds of the religious leaders to crucify Christ.
The Bible specially says that Satan entered the heart of Judas to betray Jesus (John 13:37).
That he sifted Simon Peter like wheat to deny Jesus (Luke 22:31).
And the devil filled the heat of Ananias and Sapphira to lie for monetary gain (Acts 5:3).
Constantly, the Bible writers warn us against the Devil.
Peter calls him our “adversary” and “a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8)
John says that Satan seeks to elicit sin in our lives to become like Him (I John 3:8).
The apostle Paul constantly warned of the devil in his writings. He described the devil as crafty, clever and cunning. (Ephesians 6:11).
“Resist the devil,” he urged.
Jesus flat-out called the Devil “our enemy” (Matthew 13:39).
The Devil is evil. He fills the world with wickedness. He spreads envy, jealousy and hate.
He is a liar. And a murderer. And He has seduced the hearts of corrupt men and women to propagate his wave of destruction on the human race.
The Devil has declared war on us!
The Devil through his followers divides nations, races and creates chaos among our own people.
But more than that, Satan invades our homes with filthy entertainment. Fills our minds with lustful thoughts. Floods the internet with suggestive and outright lurid solicitations.
The Tempter calls good, evil and evil, good. He desecrates marriage.
Destroys the sanctify of human life. Glorifies perversion. Undermines godly values. Attacks Christianity. And desires to destroy you!
So, isn’t it time we declare war?! War on the Devil!
He is the Great Satan. The venomous serpent. The dangerous dragon.
Satan assaults our churches. Our homes. Our marriages. Our youth. Our very minds.
It’s time for preachers and pastors to declare war! For mothers and fathers to declare war! For young people to declare war!
We’re in war.
Let’s fight for our families. Our fellowship. And our spiritual purity.
Paul’s battle cry has never been more appropriate.
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
”Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.” (Ephesians 6:10-13)

RENDERING THE ENEMY POWERLESS - The enemy isn’t just looking to distract you, or tempt you, or pull you slightly off course. He’s looking to devour you. The devil is vicious, but he’s not victorious. And you have everything you need to defeat him. We don’t have to lie shaking in our beds with a death grip on the covers, feeling powerless and deathly afraid. Satan knows the end is fast approaching. He is a defeated foe who has already suffered a fatal blow. But before he falls, he’ll try to make as many last kills as possible. With everything he’s got left, he’s coming after us. This is why we must be ever watchful.

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 (ESV)

I’m not a fan of lions. Not. At. All.
They aren’t picky with their food choices.
Whether you’re a gazelle that got separated from your herd or an uninformed human sleeping in a tent where lions roam, they’ll think you look amazing.
I got to experience this terrifying truth firsthand when my family and I decided to go back to the continent where my two sons were born and do mission work.
The guides assured us the lions wouldn’t come.
Not true.
Right when I was flirting with the edges of sleep, a creature brushed the length of my tent and — wait for it — roared!
As he brushed the tent again just inches from my head, my mind fired off one imagined scene after another of horrific outcomes.
Though I never stepped outside the tent or touched a beast of any sort, I suffered a brutal attack of the mind.
I wrestled that lion. And lost. Because I let him get the best of my thoughts.
But, please know, you don’t have to go to a foreign land to get stalked by a lion.
We see this in today’s passage of Scripture when Peter warns believers, “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8).
The enemy isn’t just looking to distract you, or tempt you, or pull you slightly off course. He’s looking to devour you.
But we must remember something crucial. The devil is vicious, but he’s not victorious. And you, my friend, have everything you need to defeat him.
We don’t have to lie shaking in our beds with a death grip on the covers, feeling powerless and deathly afraid.
A closer look at 1 Peter 5:8-9 shows us how we can actually come out on the other side of these moments with the enemy tested and true.
Peter first tells us we must be “sober-minded” and “watchful.”
This reminder to be sober-minded, or self-controlled, shows up three separate times in this letter. (1 Peter 1:13, 4:7 and 5:8)
The specific reason given in 1 Peter 4:7 is that “the end of all things is at hand.”
Satan knows the end is fast approaching. He is a defeated foe who has already suffered a fatal blow.
But before he falls, he’ll try to make as many last kills as possible. With everything he’s got left, he’s coming after us. This is why we must be ever watchful.
Next, Peter instructs us in 1 Peter 5:9a to “resist him [the devil].”
It is the same reminder we find in Ephesians 6:11 and James 4:7.
We cannot remain passive in this fight. We must actively resist the devil by standing firm in our faith.
And we find the power to stand firm in our faith when we put on the full armor of God. (Ephesians 6:10-20)
Finally, Peter encourages us with the knowledge that “the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world” (1 Peter 5:9b, ESV).
We aren’t alone in this battle. Instead, we are knit together as a body of believers both by our shared love for Christ and our shared suffering for Him.
Obviously, most of us don’t have lions regularly brush by our homes, but we do have daily brushes with the enemy.
And just like the lion’s power over me that night stopped the minute the guards showed up, Satan is rendered powerless the moment we tap into the power of God’s Word like we’re doing today.
Yes, truth is the perfect protection against our enemy.
Let’s remember this. Receive this. Use this. Practice this. Live this.
Father God, I’m so thankful You haven’t left us defenseless. Your promises are always a perfect match for our problems. And our problem-instigator, the devil — the one Scripture says roams around like a lion — is no match for Your promises. Your promises don’t tame the lion; they shame the lion back to hell. They shut his mouth. Turn his roar into a whimper. And make him run when we choose to live by Your Word and Your ways. Guide us, equip us and infuse us with holy confidence as we stand firm today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
