No Other Name

we can be saved - there is no other who has the power to save us

Many people react strongly or stumble over the fact that there is no other name than that of Jesus to call on for salvation. If God designated Jesus to be the Savior of the world, no one else can be His equal. This is an essential teaching of our faith.

Let’s come back to the truth and simplicity of the
gospel: to the teaching of Jesus Himself, who said there is, regardless of our
doubting hearts, no other name by which we can be saved. There is no other who
has the power to save us. Nor is there no other name to whom God has given authority.
There is no other Life Giver. Nor is there no other name worth adoring but
Jesus.

‘Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no
other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.’ - Acts 4:12 (NIV).
There is no other who has the power to save
us.
Nor is there no other name to whom God has
given authority.

Many people react strongly or stumble over
the fact that there is no other name than that of Jesus to call on for
salvation.
Yet this is not something that the church
or a person way back in antiquity decided upon.
This is a specific teaching of Jesus
Himself.
In John 14:6 He
explained, “I am the Way, I am the Truth,
and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with
me.”
If God designated Jesus to be the Savior of
the world, no one else can be His equal. This is an essential teaching of our
faith.
Christians are to be open-minded on many
issues, but not on this one.
No other religious teacher could die for
our sins; no other religious teacher came to earth as God’s only Son; no other
religious teacher rose from the dead.
Our total focus and commitment should be on
Jesus, the One whom God offered as the way to have an eternal relationship with
Himself.
Some people may argue that salvation in
Jesus alone is a path to the Father that is limited, inflexible or too narrow
minded.
In reality however, it is wide enough and
easy enough for the whole world, if the world chooses to accept it.
Rather than
worrying about how limited it sounds to have only one way, we should be saying,
“Thank you, God, for providing a sure way
to live life now and eternally with you.”
Prayer:
‘Jesus, thank you for your beautiful name in which I
can experience salvation and eternity with you.
‘Forgive me for my doubts. Help me to trust in your
powerful name and live to worship you alone.
‘In Jesus’ Mighty Name,
‘AMEN!’
Final
Thoughts:
Are we tempted to consider other ways to
the Father?
We may find ourselves thinking that surely
other religions offer an alternative path that is just as likely to lead to
God.
Let’s come back to the truth and simplicity
of the gospel: to the teaching of Jesus Himself, who said there is, regardless
of our doubting hearts, no other name by which we can be saved.
