BEWARE OF SEDUCTION - The last days will witness a great apostasy, a turning away from Biblical faith. We need to know our God and His Word! We need to understand Satan's schemes, and discern and expose them. The enemy is subtle and he knows how to mix lies into truth -- however our protection is truly knowing and loving Jesus, living in His Word, continuing in prayer, and being watchful. The days are evil and the Word even says if it were possible even the elect would be deceived! Don't be seduced; but stay close to the cross, for there is a strong delusion coming, and many will believe what is false!- “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” - In Ancient Greece, mythology and history were hard to distinguish. Tales of gods and demigods abounded. The chief god of Mount Olympus was Zeus. It is told that Zeus became enamored with the princess Europa and decided to seduce and ravish her. Zeus shape-shifted, transforming himself into a tame white bull. Europa, the daughter of King Agenor of Sidon, was picking flowers, when she saw the bull, and then climbed on his back. Zeus carried her away. The Romans later recounted the tale which became known as the "seduction of Europa", (with the Roman "Jupiter" replacing Zeus). It seems telling that modern Europe has adopted this story and symbol as an identifying emblem: a "Woman riding a Beast", known as "Europa".

In Ancient Greece, mythology and history were hard to distinguish.

The symbol is depicted on Euro coins; sculptures of Europa adorn important European buildings, and the dual figure is in plain sight throughout the European continent.

Europe gave birth to the Enlightenment period, which emphasized reason and individualism.

Also in Europe the Bible was first translated and printed in different languages.

The small continent saw the birth of the Protestant Reformation which eventually gave rise to a new age of missionary activity unmatched since the time of the apostles.

The two streams of Faith and Reason have since competed in Europe, yet all the while Europa seems to have perpetuated her pagan influence in this region, notwithstanding the centuries of Christianity on European soil.

Can it be accidental that Europa, a powerful pagan symbol of lust and idolatry, epitomizes European culture and identity?

Has Europe been seduced by Greece?

And what about the church?

The author of Ecclesiastes repines, "There is nothing new under the sun."

The book of Exodus recounts YHVH's deliverance of the children of Israel with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, yet, Israel too was somehow seduced into idol worship of a golden calf through Egyptian religious influence which they carried out with them.

Do we think we are immune to seduction?

Our enemy has studied us and has been practicing his art for thousands of years.

An "angel of light" [2 Corinrthians 11:14], is how he disguises himself; a deceiving wolf dressed up in wool.

The last days will witness a great apostasy, [2 Thessalonians 2:3-4] a turning away from Biblical faith.

We need to know our God and His Word!

We need to understand Satan's schemes [2 Corinthians 2:11], and discern and expose them [Ephesians 5:11].

The enemy is subtle and he knows how to mix lies into truth -- however our protection is truly knowing and loving Yeshua (Jesus), living in His Word, continuing in prayer, and being watchful.

The days are evil and the Word even says if it were possible even the elect would be deceived!

Don't be seduced; but stay close to the cross, for there is a strong delusion coming [2 Thessalonians 2:11], and many will believe what is false!

APOSTASY AND PROSPERITY - “Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” One of the most tragic movements in Christendom today teaches that God promises to make each Christian prosper in material wealth. They are confident that God would bless them materially because they had the trappings of religion - the common denominator is greed. The Bible teaches no such thing. Their desire for personal prosperity led them to a prostitution of the true worship of God - whenever religion is used to justify the “love of money,” it suffers degradation - “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.” - One of the most tragic movements in Christendom today teaches that God promises to make each Christian prosper in material wealth. The Bible teaches no such thing. Chapters 17 and 18 of the Book of Judges describe a period of rampant apostasy and confusion, an itinerant Levite, the tribe of Dan, and a man named Micah. First, we see that Micah steals 1,100 shekels of silver from his mother, who then places a curse on the unknown thief. Micah, fearing the curse, confesses the crime. His mother tries to lessen the curse by dedicating all the money to the Lord and converts 200 shekels into an idol. Micah places the idol with his others and consecrates his son as priest, even though they are of the tribe of Ephraim.

Apostasy and Prosperity

“Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” One of the most tragic movements in Christendom today teaches that God promises to make each Christian prosper in material wealth. They are confident that God would bless them materially because they had the trappings of religion - the common denominator is greed. The Bible teaches no such thing. BY JOHN D. MORRIS, PH.D.

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.” - (2 Corinthians 9:8)

One of the most tragic movements in Christendom today teaches that God promises to make each Christian prosper in material wealth.

Suffice it to say, the Bible teaches no such thing, as seen in our text and elsewhere, but this false teaching is not new and is associated with apostasy.

Consider chapters 17 and 18 of the Book of Judges, which describe a period of rampant apostasy and confusion.

The chapters provide character sketches of an itinerant Levite, the tribe of Dan, and a man named Micah.

Later, he hires the Levite to be his priest and exclaims, “Now know I that the Lord will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest” (Judges 17:13).

In the next chapter, spies of the Danites go to the priest for God’s blessing on their efforts to find land that they can conquer.

When the marauders return, they recruit the Levite to a more prosperous position.

He joins them, having stolen Micah’s idols, and establishes the tribal priesthood.

Each one in this story was confident that God would bless them materially because they had the trappings of religion.

The common denominator was greed. Their desire for personal prosperity led them to a prostitution of the true worship of God.

But whenever religion is “used” to justify the “love of money,” it suffers degradation.

“Ye cannot serve God and mammon” (Matthew 6:24).

The Institute for Creation Research (ICR) wants people to know that God’s Word can be trusted in everything it speaks about—from how and why we were made, to how the universe was formed, to how we can know God and receive all He has planned for us.

After 50 years of ministry, ICR remains a leader in scientific research within the context of biblical creation. Founded by Dr. Henry Morris in 1970, ICR exists to conduct scientific research within the realms of origins and Earth history, and then to educate the public both formally and informally through professional training programs, through conferences and seminars around the country, and through books, magazines, and media presentations.

“THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE IS THE VOICE OF GOD” - What Does “Vox Populi, Vox Dei” Mean? - THE MAJORITY POSITION ON ANY SUBJECT DOES NOT IN AND OF ITSELF ALONE MAKE IT RIGHT! When the people understand this point they will know why the Bereans were called noble by God. "Vox Populi, vox Dei” is Satan’s formula and has no place among the faithful of God - there is not any indication that mankind, in the church or out of it, has changed - man has yet to learn that the voice of the people is NOT the voice of God - “The voice of the people is the voice of God,” is the translation of the ancient Latin expression. In a democracy such a sentiment sounds good. Especially does it soothe the ear in a society that is permeated with humanism. When one examines God’s infallible Will, he immediately notices that most of the time most of the people are not in sympathy with the Truth of God. More than this is the fact that the Bible reveals that God’s people are very rarely content to remain submissive to His Will over any extended period of time. Just six chapters into the Bible and some 1500 years from the creation, God is pleased with only eight people out of the whole human race. Concerning God’s chosen people of the Old Testament, the Jews, God said of them at the time of the golden calf incident: “... I have seen this people, and behold, it is a stiffnecked people.” Paul warned that some members of the church would conduct themselves according to the aforementioned phrase, with not a few elders and preachers in the lead.

“The voice of the people is the voice of God,” is the translation of the ancient Latin expression serving as the title of this article.
In a democracy such a sentiment sounds good. Especially does it soothe the ear in a society that is permeated with humanism.
Psalm 29 | The Voice of God (MSAL) | Clearnote SongbookWhen one examines God’s infallible Will, he immediately notices that most of the time most of the people are not in sympathy with the Truth of God.
More than this is the fact that the Bible reveals that God’s people are very rarely content to remain submissive to His Will over any extended period of time.
Just six chapters into the Bible and some 1500 years from the creation, God is pleased with only eight people out of the whole human race (Genesis 6:5-6).
Concerning God’s chosen people of the Old Testament, the Jews, God said of them at the time of the golden calf incident: “... I have seen this people, and behold, it is a stiffnecked people” (Exodus 32:1-9).
Paul warned that some members of the church would conduct themselves according to the aforementioned phrase, with not a few elders and preachers in the lead (Acts 20:28-31; I Timothy 4:1ff; II Timothy 4:1-4)!
That is, man has yet to learn that the voice of the people is NOT the voice of God.
It is still true that the Bereans “... were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so” (Acts 17:11; also see II Timothy 2:15).
Yes, all of us have, do, and will continue to benefit from those who have gone before us in their studies.
Surely no one is opposed to such benefits and blessings in the least; but that is not the point under consideration.
My point is this: THE MAJORITY POSITION ON ANY SUBJECT DOES NOT IN AND OF ITSELF ALONE MAKE IT RIGHT!
When the people understand this point, they will know why the Bereans were called noble by God, and they will understand Acts 17:11.
"Vox Populi, vox Dei” is Satan’s formula and has no place among the faithful of God.
Hearing God's Voice Today - Soul ShepherdingLet us strive to make the voice of God the voice of the people.
Our plea, therefore, is: “If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God...” (I Peter 4:11);
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation...” (Romans 1:16);
“But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine” (Titus 2:1); and
“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good” (I Thessalonians 5:21).

The authorized works of the New Testament church are: evangelism (Matthew 28:18-20), edification (Ephesians 4:16) and benevolence (James 1:27; Galatians 6:9-10). We invite you to come and worship God according to the precepts of the New Testament and study with us from God’s Holy Word. You will be given a warm welcome at every assembly of the church. At the present we are small in numbers, but strong in the faith and in our world-wide commitment to seek and save the lost. Come and grow with us in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (II Peter 3:18).
