WE CONTINUALLY NEED A FRESH ANOINTING OF THE SPIRIT - Without the anointing of the Holy Spirit, Jesus was not able to perform a single miracle. Jesus was led out by the Spirit to be tempted by the devil, then came back in the power of the Spirit. Jesus was commissioned and anointed for a purpose. The anointing is to fulfill a specific purpose of God. As believers, we all have been chosen and anointed by God for a purpose. In Christ we have the best of the best, a future, a hope and something to be really happy about! All Jesus has is good news! His news is not sadness, but gladness. Get around Jesus and your condition will change from sad to glad because that is Who He is. Jesus is the ultimate Medicine, the Great Physician, the glory and the lifter of your head. In the Bible we see God using anointing oil to symbolize the anointing. Do we ever need a fresh anointing? Does the anointing of the Holy Spirit even matter? Did you know that without the anointing of the Spirit, Jesus was not able to perform a single miracle? We do hear a lot about the presence of God these days. I love the presence of God. But there really is a difference between God's presence and God's power. They are not the same. We see the O.T. use of anointing for consecration to the office of "king" or a particular service. In addition, we see the "power" aspect integrated into the meaning of being anointed with the manifestation of gifts of God by the Holy Spirit.

Understanding the Holy Ghost: The Anointing Makes a Difference – Path of Righteousness Church in Christ, IncIn the Bible we see God using anointing oil to symbolize the anointing.
Do we ever need a fresh anointing?
It's true that we need an oil change in our cars. Is it any different for us?
Does the anointing of the Holy Spirit even matter?
It seems to be one of those terms that was common to hear but has lost some of its popularity.
Did you know that without the anointing of the Spirit, Jesus was not able to perform a single miracle?
We do hear a lot about the presence of God these days. Amen to that!
I love the presence of God. But there really is a difference between God's presence and God's power. They are not the same.
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him" - (Acts 10:38, MEV).
Looking at the Greek word for anointing, we get the exact idea of what is given:
g5548. chriō, meaning  to smear or to rub with oil or consecrate to an office or religious service: to anoint consecrating Jesus to the Messianic office, and furnishing Him with the necessary powers for its administration enduing Christians with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
We see the O.T. use of anointing for consecration to the office of "king" or a particular service.
In addition, we see the "power" aspect integrated into the meaning of being anointed with the manifestation of gifts of God by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus was led out by the Spirit to be tempted by the devil, then came back in the power of the Spirit.
In other words, He had the Holy Spirit before He went out to the desert, but He came back with power.
Jesus was commissioned and anointed for a purpose. The anointing is to fulfill a specific purpose of God.
As believers, we all have been chosen and anointed by God for a purpose.
When God puts His anointing on us, there is a reason.
The New Testament is the first time we see the word anointing used in the context of power to heal, deliver and perform miracles.
4. Baptism with God's Holy Spirit – The only Biblical FoundationThe Holy Spirit is given to all believers. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is where God's power is released in our lives.
We do see pictures of two people anointed to be king in the Old Testament, Saul and David.
From their lives we can extract pictures of two completely different types of people anointed by God.
Saul represents the person who had the outward anointing without any inward devotion.
David represents a person who not only has the anointing to rule but has the inward devotion.
The kingdom of the Messiah (Jesus) being established on the throne of David, as read in the book of Isaiah, is the life we want to model.
The Joy of God
Another particular element we see in the anointing is that joy is closely associated with it.
"NO SERÁ POR LA FUERZA NI POR NINGÚN PODER, SINO POR MI ESPÍRITU" POR J. REED.Because of the heavenly aspect of the glory and power of God's anointing, there is the freedom that comes with it.
The anointing breaks "heavy yokes," bringing joy and freedom to people.
Spiritual chains are broken, fear, condemnation, shame and all the work of the enemy is destroyed by the anointing.
We see this purpose of the anointing outlined in this passage:
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to preach the acceptable year of the Lord" - (Luke 4:18-19, MEV).
Where there is freedom, there is joy!
Where there is no freedom, there is no joy.
It is that simple. It can be all too easy to get laden down with a spirit of heaviness, especially in religious circles.
This is an opportunity to use the weapon of worship to access the anointing that breaks these heavy yokes.
In Isaiah we are told to put on the "garment of praise" for the "spirit of heaviness."
In other words, our worship has the ability to access the anointing of God to break that yokes of the devil.
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." ~ Acts 2:38With the Holy Spirit inside of us we have an even more powerful dynamic at work because we can break from the "inside-out."
It is a matter of accessing "Christ," the Anointed One or the anointing, in us "the hope of glory."
The hope of glory means in hope or the purpose of His indwelling is that we might partake now in the state of heaven on Earth, "the glorious condition of blessedness, brightness and absolute perfection."
Just as Jesus taught us to pray, "His kingdom come on Earth as it is in heaven," we see how the Spirit inside of us enables us to partake of this reality.
"The seventy returned with joy, saying, 'Lord, even the demons are subject to us through Your name.' He said to them, 'I saw Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Look, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice that your names are written in heaven.' At that time Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, 'I thank You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for it was Your good pleasure'" - (Luke 10:17-21, MEV).
Jesus had given the 70 power over demons, and they came back rejoicing because it is the natural result of casting out darkness.
VEN ESPÍRITU DIVINO, PADRE AMOROSO DEL POBRE, FUENTE DEL MAYOR CONSUELO. VEN A ENJUGAR NUESTRAS LÁGRIMAS, Y RECONFÓRTANOS EN EL DUELO. ENTRA AL FONDO DE MI ALMA Y SANA MI CORAZÓN ENFERMO. LAVA NUESTROS PECADOS, Y GUÍA NUESTROS PASOS POR EL RECTO SENDERO.DANOS TUS DONES SAGRADOS, Y QUE TU DIVINA GRACIA NOS REGALE EL DESCANSO ETERNO. AMÉNWhere the devil is gone, there is great joy.
Even Jesus rejoiced in this life of victory that they were experiencing. When Jesus rejoiced it means that He "leaped or jumped" for joy.
g0021. γαλλιάω agalliaō; from γαν agan (much) and 242; properly, to jump for joy, i. e. exult: be (exceeding) glad, with exceeding joy, rejoice.
They were experiencing a little heaven on Earth.
We need to understand that the devil is very depressed. That is who he is.
He was cast out of heaven and his future is the lake of fire, which is very depressing news for him.
In Christ we have the best of the best, a future, a hope and something to be really happy about!
"You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions" - (Hebrews 1:9, MEV).
Jesus was anointed with the "oil of gladness" far above all His companions.
All Jesus has is good news! His news is not sadness, but gladness.
Get around Jesus and your condition will change from sad to glad because that is Who He is.
Jesus is the ultimate Medicine, the Great Physician, the glory and the lifter of your head.

GOD PROTECTS FROM ALL ATTACK & DESTRUCTION - God's Power for Our Battles - With You on my side, I reject the fears and terrors that attack my mind day and night - plagues and diseases hold no power over Your divine protection - Spiritual Warfare - “You need not fear the terror of the night, or the arrow that flies by day, or the plague that spreads in the darkness, or the destruction that devastates at noon.” Lord, forgive me for letting fear and worry dominate my thoughts and dreams. With You on my side, I reject the fears and terrors that attack my mind day and night. Plagues and diseases hold no power over Your divine protection. Devastating loss and being overcome even by death means nothing in light of the salvation You have provided through Jesus and the promises of the resurrection for the righteous. Your power overcomes all, and I’m thankful to be included in Your eternal family. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

BLUE SKIES AND CLOUDY DAYS - Of course, we prefer blue skies and sunshine. When the skies are cloudy and gray, I must remind myself… the sun is still shining right where it was yesterday when skies were blue. On the gray days, the sun is still there on the other side of those gray clouds. God perfectly placed it there a mere ninety-three million miles from earth just where it needs to be to sustain life on this planet. The sun has not moved. So is God, still shining, still working, still doing what He does. Of course, we love a more visible evidence of His presence and working in our lives. Don’t forget that on your cloudy days, He is still there! Here is the truth, for our faith to stretch and grow we must believe He is still there even though there are days when the clouds may appear to block our view. This is so important to understand. God is still with us on the days when the skies are not blue. There is not a cloud that can dim the power of the sun, or cloud or storm that can lessen the power of our God.

Blue Skies and Cloudy Days

Blue skies and abundant sunshine – that is my kind of day.

Don’t forget that on your cloudy days, He is still there!
Of course, we prefer blue skies and sunshine. Of course, we love a more visible evidence of His presence and working in our lives.
What is the cloud or storm in your life? Health issues, financial matters, marital problems, family problems, trust issues, fear?
We are incapable of moving any clouds one inch for the sun to come shining through again.
But we can move the clouds of fog in our mind that make us feel like He has moved away from us.
We must choose to push them away with the truth of God’s Word that He goes with us and never leaves us, whether it is blue skies or a cloudy day.
“For the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”  Deuteronomy 31:6

Meet Kathy Cheek
I am the author of First Breath of Morning: Where God Waits For You Every Day, a book that gives God glory on every page because He has been Lord of my life since I was a young girl. My relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ has built a steadfast faith that has been the hallmark of my journey with Him. This is what I write about… our relationship with the Lord.
After being a freelance writer in the Christian market for over a decade I brought together my favorite writing themes for this unique book. Visit my Book Info page for more details about First Breath of Morning.
The writing of First Breath of Morning grew out of my pursuit of a deeper understanding of God’s love, faith, and walking with Him, and this pursuit took place as I journeyed to find my way through a time of feeling confused and without direction. We’ve all been at a crossroads in our faith walk where we choose to go deeper in our relationship with God and wholly follow after Him, or coast, and continue our own path in our own way.
As I sought the Lord through a more intensive time alone with Him and in His Word, I discovered that finding Him was much more rewarding than finding myself. I learned the importance of developing a deeper relationship with Him, and I discovered the depth of His love and found the stronger faith He calls us to when we yield surrendered lives unto Him.

Be still for the presence of the Lord
The Holy One is here
Come bow before Him now
With reverence and fear
In Him no sin is found
We stand on holy ground
Be still for the presence of the Lord
The Holy One is here
Be still for the glory of the Lord
Is shining all around
He burns with holy fire
With splendor He is crowned
How awesome is the sight
Our radiant King of Light
Be still for the glory of the Lord
Is shining all around
Be still for the power of the Lord
Is moving in this place
He comes to cleanse and heal
To minister His grace
No work too hard for Him
In faith receive from Him
Be still for the power of the Lord
Be still
Is moving in this place

Be still
Be Still lyrics for the song "Be Still for the Presence of the Lord" was written by DavidEvans. In 2011, it was selected by singer Aled Jones as one of his favorites, saying "Whenever I sing it, I can feel I've got a connection with a spiritual being. It grabs you from the get-go."

The author of this hymn is David J Evans who wrote this song in in the 1980s.
The inspiration for this hymn is the story of Jacob fleeing from his brother. While in the wilderness he had a dream where he saw angels going up and down a ladder to heaven. The old Testament says, " ‘then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said “surely the Lord is in this place and I did not know it.”
