YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS FOG - God is in control, that the fog is passing and will eventually disappear. This is only fog that will clear… but God, He is timeless, eternal, and invincible. He does not leave you. He does not sleep. And He does not change. Cross through these areas of fog with Him. Cling to the Lord, to His Word. Keep going in faith… and watch the veil dissipate and the sun return once again. - Have you ever traveled through fog? It can be unnerving, even dangerous, if you’re driving. And it also can become depressing, especially if it lasts for several days. Perhaps this isn’t the case where you live, but in certain parts of the world such as the small islands of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon (near Canada) where one of my friends lived, the fog can last a very long time… Fog looks like smoke, a screen that’s more or less opaque, a veil. In reality, it’s made of many extremely tiny water droplets at or near the ground that can reduce visibility to just a few feet. Basically, fog is like a cloud touching the ground. I don’t know about you, but when it’s foggy outside, I don’t enjoy driving! You see very little or nothing at all, you have to drive more slowly… I definitely prefer the sun shining and a perfectly blue sky… when I can clearly see the road before me! The fog I’d like to talk with you about today doesn’t just have to do with weather. This veil obscuring the route, hiding the future… we all feel it at one time or another. When we’re unsure about which path to take or what’s at the end of the road.

Have you ever traveled through fog? It can be unnerving, even dangerous, if you’re driving.

And it also can become depressing, especially if it lasts for several days.

Perhaps this isn’t the case where you live, but in certain parts of the world such as the small islands of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon (near Canada) where one of my friends lived, the fog can last a very long time…

Fog looks like smoke, a screen that’s more or less opaque, a veil.

When we feel lost…

This is when the Word of God really speaks to us in a major way. It says, “And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you, do not fear nor be dismayed.” (according to Deuteronomy 31:8, NKJV)

And so many more verses that remind us that God is in control, that the fog is passing and will eventually disappear.

GOD SAYS, “I AM IN CONTROL!” - No trouble has overtaken you that I am not fully aware of, My children. I hold you in the palm of My hand. Do not fear the terror by night or the arrow that flies at noonday. I keep watch over you day and night! As I instructed Joshua after My servant Moses had died, ‘Only be strong and courageous.’ And so, I tell YOU in these turbulent times, be strong and courageous! I am in control!- Have you been wondering what on earth the Lord is doing in this season? The Lord says to you today: “I am in control of everything that you see around you right now! Your adversary will try and convince you that he is in control, but you can be assured that the Lord your God never slumbers or sleeps. And yes, I am in control! My promise is that I will keep you when the storms begin to assail you. Be assured, nothing happens without My sovereign hand being on it. From eternity I have been your God. I had My eye on My people even when you were not yet a people. My eyes are still roaming the earth, and My power and authority have not diminished by one “nth” of a degree. I still rule and reign from on high, and NOTHING can withstand My power and watchful eye. No trouble has overtaken you that I am not fully aware of, My children. I hold you in the palm of My hand. Do not fear the terror by night or the arrow that flies at noonday. I keep watch over you day and night!

Have you been wondering what on earth the Lord is doing in this season?

The Lord says to you today:

“I am in control of everything that you see around you right now!

As I instructed Joshua after My servant Moses had died, ‘Only be strong and courageous.’ And so, I tell YOU in these turbulent times, be strong and courageous!

I am in control!

My presence is with you to give you peace, strength, and comfort. Never doubt My “almighty-ness,” My sovereignty, or My power! Keep your gaze fixed on Me, and I will bring you through these troubled waters–safe, sound, and dry,” says the Lord!

This is your finest hour as My bride.

I have equipped you to walk out every step that I have purposed for you. Keep your lamps full and burning bright for all the world to see. Arise and shine, for your light and opportunity have come. My glory will be seen on you as never before.

I have given you My name, My word, My blood, and the promise that if any two of you agree on Earth as touching any one thing, it shall be given to you!

Therefore:

·              Speak My name;

·              Declare My word;

·              Plead My blood; and

·              Confess your good confession of faith among many witnesses.

This is a new day and a new hour. I prophesied and spoke through My servants the prophets that you would see it.

Don’t expect things to go back to the norm, for I am doing a new thing in your midst that will astound even the hardest of hearts. I am about to put My people on display in a mighty way. Even the world will marvel and say, ‘This is indeed the finger of God!” They will say, “How did it happen? How was it wrought?” And My people will boast in the Lord their God.

This is the hour when I will put My words in your mouth to declare My glorious Gospel from the rooftops.

Many will see and fear. Many will see and be changed. Yes, there will be many that will be exposed to some of My greatest moves, and yet their hearts will doubt. But, My power and My will must be accomplished in this hour,” says the Lord.

This is not a time to be quiet. It is a time to be vocal, bold, and courageous in your faith and in your God.

Remember that the people who know Me shall be strong, and shall do mighty exploits in My name.

I am looking for those people,” says the Lord!

“The harvest is waiting; your children are waiting; your city is waiting; even the nations are waiting for the awakening of the sons and daughters of God to arise! Darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people, but the Lord will rise with healing in His wings. Look for Me, for the Lion of the Tribe of Judah has prevailed and He is roaring again!

Hear the call; hear the roar; hear the trumpet call to arms.

I am sounding the clarion call for this hour! I STILL REIGN, AND I AM STILL IN CONTROL! Do not miss your moment to be a part of this last great awakening,” says the Lord of Heaven and the Lord of Hosts!

FEAR NOT WHEN ALL FEELS LOST - Learn and accept that God is in control, that He is sovereign. Embrace the fact that what you are going through is divinely guided by a heavenly Father who loves you too much to do anything cruel to you. Remember, God exists in a realm beyond our comprehension. He’s not some crusty old man with a long beard blowing wind out of the north. God is incomprehensibly great. He’s omniscient. He’s omnipotent. He’s omnipresent. He’s eternal. He’s ageless and timeless. He’s good. He’s gracious. He’s loving and just. And He’s always right … even when you feel like what happened to you was all wrong. - God is in charge. He is over everything. He is sovereign. He rules graciously and powerfully from Heaven in perfect wisdom, love, and grace. Whatever you are facing, adverse or delightful, your life is all about God … His will … His way. But we easily lose our theological moorings when we insist on living horizontally. When we do, the winds of adversity eventually cause us to drift from what we truly believe. How much better to choose a response of faith that submits to God’s sovereign will, yielding to His gracious purposes in both giving and taking away those things and people we hold dear. After all, that’s His sovereign right. God doesn’t exist to make us healthy and happy. He exists to glorify His name. We are the channel through which that glory flows. Fear Not When All Feels Lost

Learn and accept that God is in control, that He is sovereign. And He’s always right … even when you feel like what happened to you was all wrong.

by Chuck Swindoll

God is in charge. He is over everything. He is sovereign.

He rules graciously and powerfully from Heaven in perfect wisdom, love, and grace (see Psalm 11).

T. S. Eliot puts it this way:

To believe in the supernatural is not simply to believe that after living a successful, material, and fairly virtuous life here one will continue to exist in the best possible substitute for this world, or that after living a starved and stunted life here one will be compensated with all the good things one has gone without: it is to believe that the supernatural is the greatest reality here and now.

I suggest you reread that profound statement. The life of faith is not what you purchase or produce.

Faith consists in knowing your heavenly Father is at work for His glory and for your good, to mold you into the image of His Son, Jesus. That’s what life is about!

If it takes the loss of everything to gain that vertical perspective, then embrace the loss.

If it takes your broken dreams and an abandonment of what you had counted on all your life to realign your life vertically, then abandon it.

It is all about God, who gives and takes away.

During his extended grief, Job realized that the most important thing in life exists in the supernatural, not the natural – in the invisible, not the visible.

That’s the power of Biblical theology. It keeps us thinking rightly about God and ourselves, especially in times of trouble.

Real living is eternal living. Real perspective is an understanding of what isn’t seen. Real maturity is guiding one’s life according to the intangibles.

Consider the apostle Paul’s words from Colossians 3:

Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory (Colossians 3:1-4).

That’s a truckload of great theology! And it represents the foundation for a vertical perspective.

If you learn nothing else in your years walking with the Lord, learn and accept that God is in control, that He is sovereign.

WHERE IS GOD DURING THE STORM? - God is with you, every moment of the day and every day of the week. He sees your struggles, and He has it all under control. Although the storm may seem unbearable, and although it may feel like your boat is sinking, He’s there for you when you cry out to Him. He can calm the sea with a word, and He’s our safe harbor even when things feel out of control. If you’re facing a storm, don’t waste time and energy trying to bail your boat out with a teacup. Cry out to Jesus, trust in God, and let Him guide you through the waves. - Their boat was being violently tossed, and the disciples were terrified. They’d had fine weather when they set out for the other side of the lake, but the wind blew in unexpectedly and one of the squalls that the lake was famous for rushed down with vengeance. Waves rose higher than the boat as they bailed out the water that rolled over the boat’s sides, shouting to be heard over the roar of the wind. “Jesus,” they called out as they fought to keep the boat afloat. “Help us, please!” But there was no answer, and they kept up their frantic activity alone. “Jesus, where are you?” Finally, they discovered Jesus — sleeping. In frustration, someone shook him awake and cried out, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” Jesus stood, and with a few words he simply commanded the waves to be still. Can you imagine the silence, after all that blowing, shaking, and yelling?

Their boat was being violently tossed, and the disciples were terrified.

“Help us, please!”

But there was no answer, and they kept up their frantic activity alone. “Jesus, where are you?”

Finally, they discovered Jesus — sleeping.

In frustration, someone shook him awake and cried out, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”

Jesus stood, and with a few words he simply commanded the waves to be still.

Can you imagine the silence, after all that blowing, shaking, and yelling?

Suddenly, the sea was calm — the sky above reflecting on its still surface.

They could hear their hearts pounding in their chests, so sudden and complete was the change in weather.

Jesus looked from one pale, trembling face to the next and shook his head. “Why are you so afraid,” he asked them. “Do you still have no faith?”

God in the Storm

Have you ever found yourself crying out to God during one of life’s hard storms?

Maybe it snuck up on you, or maybe it had been brewing for quite some time.

A failing marriage, a health crisis, a job loss, a betrayal… the storms of life can seem overwhelming, and it can feel like you are drowning.

Fear can take over when we’re hit with a squall, and we’re left feeling like we’re trying to bail the water out of our little boat with a teacup, exhausted, fighting for our lives and barely able to speak. “Jesus, where are you?” we gasp in prayer.

“Don’t you care if I drown?”

At the point that they found themselves at the mercy of the waves in a boat that must have suddenly felt like a bobbing death trap rather than a vessel of safety, the disciples had already seen Jesus do plenty of miracles.

He’d turned water into wine, and they had witnessed him heal many sick people.

In fact, he’d recently healed a lame man on the Sabbath, inciting the wrath of the Pharisees.

And that day, he’s called himself “The Son of Man,” — a direct reference to his identity as Messiah and Savior.

In fact, they’d also seen Jesus at work in the crowds before this fateful boat trip, and when impure spirits encountered him they “fell before him and cried out, ‘You are the Son of God.’” (Mark 3:11).

They’d had plenty of chances to see that Jesus was capable of miracles, that he cared deeply for the people, and that he was no ordinary man.

Still, despite the repeated miracles they’d witnessed—they were afraid that Jesus would let them down.

The disciples were afraid that Jesus had abandoned them, not only fearing that he had fallen asleep and wasn’t paying attention, but that he didn’t care what happened to them!

Of course, Jesus cared. And he had the situation under control — he knew that with a few words, he could turn the crisis around and put them back on calm waters. He also knew that what happened that day in the boat was a powerful lesson that would speak to believers through the ages to come, a lesson that we all need to lean on at times.

Trusting in Jesus to Calm Life’s Storms

If the Lord’s close friends, who had been there at his side all along, were lacking in faith… is it any wonder that we often find ourselves in the same “boat”?

Sometimes it really can feel like Jesus is has forgotten about us, he’s asleep on the job or he just doesn’t care.

But the truth is, God knows every second of the storm’s path, and He knows your fears and struggles.

The story of Jesus calming the storm is found in 3 out of 4 gospels, each account tells the story in near-identical accounts.

Despite how it must have felt to the disciples at the time, what happened that day on the lake was no accident — it was a God-Ordained storm, and Jesus used it to show his followers that he is in control of all creation… all of the time.

And the same is true for you, today.

Psalm 121:4 says, “Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps.”

God is with you, every moment of the day and every day of the week.

DOES SATAN HAVE TO GET GOD’S PERMISSION BEFORE HE CAN ATTACK US? - God allowed the harassing of His disciples, within limits, but He had a higher purpose in mind — the strengthening of them all. In the same way, it seems that there are boundaries and rules that Satan must abide by. He can go so far but no farther. Job and Peter were hedged about by the Lord — Satan couldn’t get to them without the Lord’s first removing a measure of His protection. We know that God cares for all of His children, so it is reasonable to assume that God has a measure of protection surrounding each of us. And we know that, ultimately, God controls everything in the universe, including Satan. “In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” - There is no biblical proof that Satan always needs God’s specific permission in order to act against Christians every time he wishes to attack them. We know that Satan needs permission at least sometimes. Job 1 shows that Satan was not able to afflict Job without God’s permission. However, consider Satan’s argument before God: “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land” - Satan is obviously familiar with who Job is and is aware of Job’s special protection and blessing by God.

Got Questions Ministries

There is no biblical proof that Satan always needs God’s specific permission in order to act against Christians every time he wishes to attack them.

We know that Satan needs permission at least sometimes.

Job 1 shows that Satan was not able to afflict Job without God’s permission.

However, consider Satan’s argument before God: “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land” (Job 1:10).

Satan is obviously familiar with who Job is and is aware of Job’s special protection and blessing by God.

How could Satan have known of Job’s protection, unless he and/or his demonic minions had not already tried to work their will against Job?

What Satan is really asking is for God to remove Job’s protection; of course, in asking that the protection be removed, Satan is essentially seeking permission to attack Job.

Does Satan have to seek such permission every time he attacks us? The Bible does not say.

Another relevant passage is Luke 22:31–32.

Jesus says, “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

Clearly in this case Satan had asked God’s permission to test Peter and the other disciples.

Jesus tells Peter that He has prayed specifically for him so that Peter’s faith would not fail and so that Peter can strengthen the other disciples when the test was over.

The implication is that Peter and the rest would be sifted in whatever way Satan intended.

So God allowed the harassing of His disciples, within limits, but He had a higher purpose in mind — the strengthening of them all.

In Job 38:11 God says that He limits the waves of the sea: “This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt.”

In the same way, it seems that there are boundaries and rules that Satan must abide by. He can go so far but no farther.

As the devil “prowls around like a roaring lion” (1 Peter 5:8), must he stop and ask God’s permission for every step?

Or does he only need to ask special permission when he runs into an obstacle to his hatred?

There is no real biblical proof either way.

“In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

KEEP FIXING YOUR EYES ON ME - When things don’t go as you would like, accept the situation immediately. If you indulge in feelings of regret, they can easily spill over the line into resentment. Remember that I am sovereign over your circumstances, and humble yourself under My mighty hand. Rejoice in what I am doing in your life, even though it is beyond your understanding. Keep Fixing Your Eyes on Me

I, the Creator of the universe, am with you and for you. What more could you need?

When you feel some lack, it is because you are not connecting with Me at a deep level. I offer abundant Life; your part is to trust Me, refusing to worry about anything.

It is not so much adverse events that make you anxious as it is your thoughts about those events.

Your mind engages in efforts to take control of a situation, to bring about the result you desire.

Your thoughts close in on the problem like ravenous wolves.

Determined to make things go your way, you forget that I am in charge of your life.

The only remedy is to switch your focus from the problem to My Presence. Stop all your striving, and watch to see what I will do. I am the Lord!

The ultimate challenge is to keep fixing your eyes on Me, no matter what is going on around you.

When I am central in your thinking, you are able to view circumstances from My perspective.

“Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’ Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.” — 1 Peter 5:5-6

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” — John 14:6
