THE HEAVEN EFFECT - God wants you to SEE the INVISIBLE. There’s a spiritual realm all around you, and it’s every bit as real as what you see with your natural eyes. In the midst of his troubling visions of the condition of the church and coming events in the world, the apostle John saw an open door in Heaven and the Lord sitting on His throne. If you are dealing with difficult situations in your life today, a glimpse into Heaven may be just what you need. No matter what you may see with your natural eyes, God is still sitting on His throne! God wants to bless you through His heavenly portals, enabling you to help fill the earth with the knowledge of His glory as the waters cover the sea - Perhaps it sounds like a contradiction in terms, but God wants you to SEE the INVISIBLE. There’s a spiritual realm all around you, and it’s every bit as real as what you see with your natural eyes. The Message brings this out in paraphrasing Paul’s statement in 2 Corinthians 4:18: “There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.” This same principle was illustrated when the Syrian army attacked Israel in 2 Kings 6:8-17. Elisha’s servant was terrified when he saw the city surrounded by the Syrian horses and chariots. “Alas…What shall we do?” he asked Elisha. The prophet gave his servant a shocking reply: “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them”.

God wants you to SEE the INVISIBLE

Perhaps it sounds like a contradiction in terms, but God wants you to SEE the INVISIBLE.

But the things we can’t see now will last forever.”

This same principle was illustrated when the Syrian army attacked Israel in 2 Kings 6:8-17.

Elisha’s servant was terrified when he saw the city surrounded by the Syrian horses and chariots.

“Alas…What shall we do?” he asked Elisha (verse 15).

The prophet gave his servant a shocking reply: “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them” (verse 16).

But the servant still wasn’t convinced. Couldn’t his master see the vast enemy army surrounding the city?

Finally, Elisha decided to pray for his servant to see into the spiritual realm:

Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.”

Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha (verse 17).

Could it be that God wants to open your eyes in the same way?

The apostle Paul recognized that the believers in Ephesus needed this kind of spiritual enlightenment, so it’s likely that you do as well:

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe” (Ephesians 1:18-19 NASB).

In addition to Jacob, Paul, Elisha’s servant, and the church in Ephesus, the Bible is filled with other examples of people who were given a glimpse into the spiritual realm:

While everyone else was terrified of Goliath, David knew he served a God who was much bigger than the Philistine giant (1 Samuel 17).

When Stephen was being stoned to death by the angry crowd, he was comforted by the sight of Jesus in Heaven:

Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand (Acts 7:55 NLT).

In the midst of his troubling visions of the condition of the church and coming events in the world, the apostle John saw an open door in Heaven and the Lord sitting on His throne (Revelation 4:1-2).

He gained a new perspective when Jesus told him, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”

If you are dealing with difficult situations in your life today, a glimpse into Heaven may be just what you need.

No matter what you may see with your natural eyes, God is still sitting on His throne!

Opening Wide the Gate

What was true for Jacob is also true for us today.

God opens “gates of Heaven” in our lives through which He pours out His blessings… provision… healing… deliverance… guidance… breakthroughs… joy – and whatever else we may need!

As we draw near to Him “in the secret place” (Psalm 91:1), the Lord will touch our lives with Heaven’s supernatural bounty, healing power, and protection.

And once we experience the amazing resources God pours out through His heavenly gateway, we’ll want to share those blessings to bless and impact others.

As God’s love moves on our hearts, we will respond by sending out His hope, healing, and salvation to others.

Jesus has called us to preach and demonstrate the same transformational message that He brought, describing Heaven’s Kingdom as being “at hand” (Matthew 4:17).

When we meet those who need a financial breakthrough, we can boldly declare, “Heaven’s bounty is at hand!”

When we meet those who need God’s touch in their body, we can boldly declare, “Heaven’s healing power is at hand!”

When we meet those who need victory over addiction or oppression from the enemy, we can boldly declare, “Heaven’s power is at hand to defeat the powers of darkness!”

Because the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, God can work through YOUR hands to bring about miracles in the lives of others.

The Bible teaches that the resources of Heaven are near you today, and all you have to do is receive them by faith:

The righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (Romans 10:6-8).

God wants to bless you through His heavenly portals, enabling you to help fill the earth with the knowledge of His glory as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14).

Souls in eternity will be grateful you encountered the Heaven Effect – and were moved to share its blessings with them.

OUR TIME IS SHORT, ETERNITY IS LONG - Our brief lives soon give way to eternal joy with Jesus - Every day that passes is God drawing the earth closer to its eventual and inevitable conclusion. And not only is this world finite, but our individual time on it is more limited still. Our life is like “mist,” here and then quickly gone. The Bible in fact repeatedly confronts us with the reality of our finitude. But the Bible never speaks of the brevity of our life just to make us feel sentimental, or morbidly focused on death, or to rob life right now of significance. In fact, quite the opposite is true. Our brief lives soon give way to eternal joy with Jesus. On one hand, death is “salvation” for believers in Christ! Our brief lives soon give way to eternal joy with Jesus. Every time we look in the mirror and see new wrinkles, or thinning hair, we should say to ourselves with a thrill in our voice, “My salvation is getting nearer!” The light of eternity shines through our temporary lives, infusing them with permanence and purpose! Living for Jesus Christ infuses our short, temporary lives with eternal significance.

Our brief lives soon give way to eternal joy with Jesus

“The appointed time has grown very short … For the present form of this world is passing away” (1 Corinthians 7:29, 31).

Image result for images Our Time Is Short, Eternity Is LongGod himself has set the bounds of this universe, and it will not last forever.
Therefore, every day that passes is God drawing the earth closer to its eventual and inevitable conclusion.
And not only is this world finite, but our individual time on it is more limited still.
As James reminds us, our life is like “mist,” here and then quickly gone.
The Bible in fact repeatedly confronts us with the reality of our finitude.
Image result for images Our Time Is Short, Eternity Is LongBut the Bible never speaks of the brevity of our life just to make us feel sentimental, or morbidly focused on death, or to rob life right now of significance.
In fact, quite the opposite is true.
Our brief lives soon give way to eternal joy with Jesus.
Paul writes in Romans 13:11, “The hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.”
On one hand, death is “salvation” for believers in Christ!
Our brief lives soon give way to eternal joy with Jesus.
Every time we look in the mirror and see new wrinkles, or thinning hair, we should say to ourselves with a thrill in our voice, “My salvation is getting nearer!”
Yet, the approach of death should still “wake” us out of a drowsy, sleep-walking way of living.
It should remind us that the light of eternity shines through our temporary lives, infusing them with permanence and purpose!
Living for Jesus Christ infuses our short, temporary lives with eternal significance.
What a bigness and richness this gives our seemingly little decisions, daily duties, and mundane tasks!
Every moment of waiting patiently for God, every sacrifice made in order to serve God, every labor expended in order to serve others in Jesus’ name — is a beam of God’s eternal glory breaking through into this temporary world.
We live our lives best when we live for eternity rather than for the temporary.
If you make your life all about chasing happiness, or avoiding pain, or getting more stuff — none of these can bear the weight of eternity.
We love our wife or husband best when we love them in light of eternity; we face grief best, and we enjoy joy the most, when we emote in light of eternity; we use material things best when we handle them in light of eternity.
None of these things are bad in and of themselves: marriage, or grief, or happiness, or possessions. But when anything temporary is made the foundation of your existence, your life will inevitably topple over in ruins.
Only the eternal kingdom of Christ is a strong enough foundation to hold everything else in your life up and in place.
Ultimately, life is not about being married or being single; it is not about seeking thrills or avoiding pain; it is not about obtaining things or giving up things.
It is about using the temporary gift of this life — with all its joys and sorrows and relationships and opportunities — to the glory of Jesus Christ.
Life is short! Every sunset is one less day we have here, so we dare not waste a single moment.
Yet, the light of eternity shines through our temporary lives on earth, each day that we live for Jesus Christ.

“COME LET US REASON TOGETHER” - What is our life here on earth compared to eternity? It is a vapor in the wind, a tear in the midst of the ocean, a flower that is here today and gone tomorrow. What we have done in the past is history. Yesterday is gone, and there is no way to revive it. It is dead. Tomorrow doesn’t belong to us, and will always lie in front of us. This moment is all we have, and we should take this time to consider our eternal destiny. “Being good” will not get you into heaven. We are not capable of meeting God’s standard of “good.” The Bible says, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” But thanks be to the glory of God the only requirement to receive is to believe. He doesn’t ask us to do anything but to believe that Jesus Christ is His Son.

“Come
Let Us Reason
Together”

We toil our entire lives. For what? Everything we work for either rusts or rots.
Solomon was the richest, wisest man to ever live, but in describing life he said, “All is lies and troubles.”
The same can go for ours. We constantly speak of “tomorrow,” but tomorrow is the morgue of hell.
“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” Proverbs 27:1 NIV
What is our life here on earth compared to eternity? It is a vapor in the wind, a tear in the midst of the ocean, a flower that is here today and gone tomorrow.
What we have done in the past is history.
Yesterday is gone, and there is no way to revive it. It is dead.
Tomorrow doesn’t belong to us, and will always lie in front of us.  This moment is all we have, and we should take this time to consider our eternal destiny.
If we were required to meet certain standards before we can receive salvation, I am afraid many of us would not make it.
If salvation were for people with a certain color of skin, or with a prestigious family background, many of us would be left outside.
Many of us say we live a good life and try to obey the laws. Our way appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.
“Being good” will not get you into heaven. We are not capable of meeting God’s standard of “good.”
The Bible says, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”
But thanks be to the glory of God the only requirement to receive is to believe.
He doesn’t ask us to do anything but to believe that Jesus Christ is His Son. “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:30-31 NIV
God deals only in the present.
All Satan asks for is one day at a time. If he can get you to hold off on salvation today, he feels like he has the best chance in controlling your tomorrow.
For him it is all about manipulation of time, your time.
Satan will never ask you not to go to church He just wants you to put off today what you can do another day because he knows there are a thousand ways for you to die before tomorrow.
Each moment we procrastinate we are taking a chance on our own, and our family’s eternity.
Now is the time for salvation, and until we make the decision to believe we are a ticking time bomb.
Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Isaiah 55:6 NKJV
There is a calamity that we all must face. None, not one of us, will escape death. If you are born, you will die.
“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken. Isaiah 1:18-20 NKJV
You cannot win without God regardless of how many people stand with you because God is always a majority.
He offers you the greatest gift mankind has ever received, His beloved Son Jesus Christ. If you refuse His gift of salvation and harden your heart, you will be cast into the lake of fire.
God’s loving plan of salvation is complete, and it is ours for the asking. There is not one thing you can add, because the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ finished it once and for all.
Christ paid the price in full. “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.”  Matthew 10:32-33 NKJV
All things have been prepared for you now. Today is your day. Tomorrow may be too late.
Jesus said, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” Revelation 3:20 NIV
Please pray with me. Dear heavenly Father I admit that I am a sinner, and I have done many things that have separated me from You. I have lived my life for myself, and have caused many to fall away from grace. I believe that You died on the cross to save me from my sins. You accomplished what I could not do for myself. I come to You now and ask You to take control of my life. I place it in your hands, and from this day forward I ask You to help me live a victorious life so that others will see You in me. I love you, Lord. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray. Amen.
And for those of you who choose to hang onto their own selves I leave these parting words, “How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? Repent at my rebuke! Then I will pour out my thoughts to you, I will make known to you my teachings. But since you refuse to listen when I call and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand, since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke, I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you; I will mock when calamity overtakes you – when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. “Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me, since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord. Since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.” Proverbs 1:22-33 NIV
