"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or imagine, according to the power that works in us." - Ephesians 3:20

There are 7,487 promises in God's Word.

All of them belong to God's people: those who have a new nature now, those referred to biblically as "children of promise" and "heirs of promise" (Galatians 4:28, Hebrews 6:17).

God's promises, like a rainbow, arc over our lives from the beginning to the end.

They are so diverse in nature, believers never face any negative situation without a suitable promise empowering them to overcome.

One of the most amazing promises is Ephesians 3:20: "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or imagine, according to the power that works in us."

Three strong power-words are fused in this one intense statement: "exceedingly," "abundantly" and "beyond."

"Exceedingly" means "to an unusual degree."

"Abundantly" means "generously" or "lavishly."

"Beyond" means "surpassing all limitations."

Just one of these words should be sufficient to put a smile on our faces.

Go ahead, imagine what God could do in your life, what answers He could send to your prayers.

Then, bump it up several notches beyond what you even think possible.

Let your faith rest there — on the exceptional, the extraordinary, the supernatural — realizing this promise is dependent on the "power that works in us."

What "power"?

The power of faith.

The power of positive confessions.

The power of thanksgiving and praise.

This verse was fulfilled for me years ago in an amazing way, even when I didn't believe.

Right after I found the Lord, I was very focused on winning my whole family.

One of my favorite uncles lived in Baraboo, Wisconsin (a small rural community on the way to the Wisconsin Dells).

I often prayed, "God, please send a born-again believer to Uncle Dick to share the gospel with him."

Then, my voice would trail off, with echoing negative thoughts such as There aren't any born-again believers in Baraboo.

My doubts kept fighting my faith.

Finally, I decided to take things into my own hands and drive up to Wisconsin from Tennessee.

God must have been smiling the entire two days I spent on the road.

Because shortly before I arrived, a bus carrying about 25 believers on their way to a retreat broke down — guess where? — in Baraboo, of course.

That's not all. It was my uncle's son-in-law who compassionately stopped and offered to help.

Since they had no money for a motel, my gracious uncle and his son-in-law (who lived next door) let them sleep on their couches and the floors of their trailers.

I asked God to send one, and instead, He sent wall-to-wall Christians — singing, worshipping, holding Bible studies and sharing the truth with my uncle and his family — for over a week, while they waited for their bus to be fixed.

Then, as they were leaving, I showed up (feeling almost useless after I heard what God had done).

Many times, since that day, the thought has surfaced in my heart: If the Almighty God could do that when I doubted, what can He do when I believe?

Try stretching your faith that high today.

RAINBOWS IN THE BIBLE - God’s throne signifies God’s holiness, glory and righteousness. Christ’s death on the cross paved the way for us to come forward to the throne of grace to find mercy and grace for timely help - we can approach the God of the universe who is holy, glorious and righteous. When you see a rainbow, remember that God is faithful and his throne is approachable - the rainbow represents God’s faithfulness to keep his promise - The first record of a rainbow in the Bible is in Genesis after the great flood. Here the rainbow is a sign of God’s promise to man and every living animal that God would never again destroy earth with a flood. “I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth.” Therefore, the rainbow is a sign of God’s faithfulness to keep his covenant between him and the earth. In the Old Testament book of Ezekiel the rainbow is used to describe the glory of God. The writer saw the glory of God and he used the rainbow to help describe what he saw. What he saw caused him to fall on his face. No one has seen God however; when we see a rainbow we have an example of the radiance of God’s glory. How awesome God it is that God would give us a rainbow as a picture of his glory. The rainbow is also mentioned in the last book of the Bible called Revelation. “And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance.” Here the writer saw a rainbow around the throne of God. God’s throne signifies God’s holiness, glory and righteousness. Christ’s death on the cross paved the way for us to come forward to the throne of grace to find mercy and grace for timely help.

What is a rainbow?
SIGNS & SYMBOLS OF THE BIBLE (RAINBOW) | JESUS WAY 4 YOUGoogle defines a rainbow as “an arch of colors formed in the sky in certain circumstances, caused by the refraction and dispersion of the sun’s light by rain or other water droplets in the atmosphere.”
But what does the Bible say about rainbows?
In this article we will see 3 Bible verses in the Bible where a rainbow is mentioned and how these verses use the rainbow to help us understand God.
THE RAINBOW SIGNIFIES GOD’S FAITHFULNESS
The first record of a rainbow in the Bible is in Genesis after the great flood.
Here the rainbow is a sign of God’s promise to man and every living animal that God would never again destroy earth with a flood. “I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth.” (Genesis 9:13)
Therefore, the rainbow is a sign of God’s faithfulness to keep his covenant between him and the earth.
THE RAINBOW DESCRIBES GOD’S GLORY
In the Old Testament book of Ezekiel the rainbow is used to describe the glory of God.
“As the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell on my face and heard a voice speaking.” (Ezekiel 1:28)
Rainbows: The Power of Second Chances by Gevura Davis - Jewish ...
Here the writer’s description of what he saw includes the appearance of the rainbow in the clouds.
The writer saw the glory of God and he used the rainbow to help describe what he saw. What he saw caused him to fall on his face.
No one has seen God (John 1:18) however; when we see a rainbow we have an example of the radiance of God’s glory.
How awesome God it is that God would give us a rainbow as a picture of his glory.
THE RAINBOW IS PART OF GOD’S HEAVENLY THRONE
The rainbow is also mentioned in the last book of the Bible called Revelation. “And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance.” (Revelation 4:3)
Here the writer saw a rainbow around the throne of God.
HOW SEEING A RAINBOW CAN HELP YOU KNOW GOD
Why No Rainbows Appearing in the Sky Could Be a Sign of the Second ...In order to understand how seeing a rainbow can help you know God, it would be good to take the third point about the rainbow a step further by learning a little bit about the colors of the rainbow in order to appreciate what the writer of Revelation saw when he saw the throne.
The rainbow is made up of many colors; however, there are 3 primary colors that make up the rainbow.
The primary colors of the rainbow and their meaning are the following: red (represents holiness), yellow (represents glory) and blue (represents righteousness).
God’s throne signifies God’s holiness, glory and righteousness.
How can we unrighteous and sinful mortal human beings approach this heavenly throne that belongs to God?
The answer lies in the work that Christ accomplished on the cross.
Christ’s death on the cross paved the way for us to come forward to the throne of grace to find mercy and grace for timely help. (Hebrews 4:16)
In other words, because of Christ’s death on the cross we can approach the God of the universe who is holy, glorious and righteous.
Were there rainbows before the great flood? - QuoraWhen you see a rainbow, remember that God is faithful and his throne is approachable.
In this article we have seen a short description of what a rainbow is.
More importantly we have seen three Bible verses that mention the rainbow.
Through these Bible references we now see that the rainbow represents God’s faithfulness to keep his promise, God’s glory and God’s throne to which we now have access through Christ’s death on the cross.
Perhaps the next time you see a rainbow you will see the beautiful colors and appreciate who God is and remember that, because of his faithfulness, he has made a way for you to come forward to his throne.
