There’s Order in the Grind
The Lord directs the
steps of the godly
Michael
It may feel like you are sitting right now but actually Planet
Earth is moving around the sun at 67,000 mph making a full revolution every 24
hrs.
So, the next time you feel like you’ve had an unproductive day,
remind yourself that you traveled more than 1.5M miles in space today!
“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He
delights in every detail of their lives.” — Psalm 37:23
God is a God of order. His plan for mankind has order.
Therefore, I believe my life has order.
But when I feel stuck in a role or
in a position beneath me, I question God because I can’t see how this is
contributing towards my purpose.
I’m sure a few of these men felt the same way;
· Joseph was sold
into slavery before becoming VP of Egypt
· David was
running lunches to his brothers before he became king
· Elisha was
plowing a field when Elijah called him
· Moses was
waiting in a desert for 40 years before God gave him his assignment
I think sometimes we are tempted to fabricate the means in
getting us to our destiny because on surface it doesn’t appear to have
meaning.
It’s not exciting, it’s hard work, and often a grind. But God
says, trust me in the small. Trust my order of events for your life.
Just do your assignment and let me give you the promotion on my
timetable. Serve his purpose not yours.
Do you believe He has an order in your life too?
We don’t doubt God’s ability to keep the planets in orbit but we have a difficult time believing He can keep our lives in
order.
I often believe He’s making a mistake in my daily grind and
needs my help getting me in position of my purpose.
However, I’m finding that my purpose develops out of
these daily activities because they drive my experiences, passions, and heart.
How are you letting God direct your steps in the small and
sometimes boring?
My name is Michael and
I worked in marketing, sales & business development roles at the NBA and
Pepsi before going full-time in ministry & entrepreneurship. I helped
launch and develop a children’s sports ministry program that extends to over
150 countries today. These business and ministry experiences have inspired me
to share God’s faithfulness and goodness with others today. My mission is to
help people live their faith at work by discovering God’s truths, claiming His
promises, and obeying His Word resulting in clarity & purpose.
My wife Beth & I have been
married for 25 years. We have four children– two adult and two in high school.
