Can You Explain
What 'Eternal Judgments' Mean?
.
If people do all kinds of good works,
but fail to accept Jesus as their personal Savior, they will be judged to spend
eternity in the lake of fire - the life we are living now will actually
determine our eternal state; this is the meaning of eternal judgment

What is the basic
doctrine of "eternal judgments" mentioned in Hebrews 6:2?
Hebrews 6:2 (NKJV)
states: “Of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of
resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.”
The word eternal
means constant or forever.
The Bible refers to
the final judgment that God will declare on individuals. This judgment will
determine our state for eternity.
It's important to
realize that all judgment comes through Jesus, the Son of God. "For the
Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son" (John 5:22 NKJV).
Our decision
regarding Jesus determines our eternal judgment.
If we accept Jesus
as our Lord, we will spend eternity with God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
If we reject Jesus,
as our personal Savior, we will spend eternity in the lake of fire.
Notice how
unbelievers will be eternally judged:
“And I saw the
dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another
book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according
to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
“And any one not
found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation
20:12,15 NKJV)
If people do all
kinds of good works, but fail to accept Jesus as their personal Savior, they
will be judged to spend eternity in the lake of fire.
Jesus will also
judge Christians for their works while living on the earth (Romans 14:10; 2
Corinthians 5:10).
This judgment shall
determine their placement in the Kingdom of God forever.
The life we are
living now will actually determine our eternal state; this is the meaning of
eternal judgment.
