What do you want Me to do for you?” (Mark 10:51).

Ever wonder why some people receive a breakthrough from God, while others don’t?
Our Heavenly Father loves all His children, so why would some seem to miss out on His blessings?
While the answers aren’t always clear-cut, we can find some important clues in the Bible’s account of how a blind man named Bartimaeus received his sight (Mark 10:46-52).
When he heard that Jesus was passing by, Bartimaeus began to cry out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (verse 47).
a Lamp to my feet. a Light for my path.” – Mark 10:47-48;51-52 | A ...People were annoyed by his audacious behavior and told him to be quiet.
But Bartimaeus was desperate for a miracle, and he persisted in his loud cries to the Lord.
This is such a lesson for us.
Too often, we let other people talk us out of our quest for a miracle from God. They sow doubt and discouragement, causing us to lose heart and give up.
Yet Bartimaeus refused to be deterred.
Hearing his passionate shouts, Jesus called him forward and asked one of the most incredible questions in history:
What do you want Me to do for you?” (verse 51).
Do you see how stunning this is?
The Creator of the universe and Lord of Heaven and earth was asking a man to request whatever he wanted.
It’s as if Bartimaeus was being given a blank check, with instructions to fill in the blanks with whatever He needed the Master to do for him.
He Could Have Missed It!
I’m sure there were many other people along the road to Jericho who needed a miracle that day.
But they didn’t have the unwavering tenacity this blind beggar displayed.
Why was Bartimaeus so bold? I believe there were several reasons:
·       He was desperate for his life to change.
·      He believed that Jesus could give him the miracle he needed.
·      He was willing to endure the disapproval of the crowd in order to receive what he needed.
Mark 10:51 And Jesus answered and said to him, What will you that ...However, he could easily have missed out on his breakthrough moment.
The Lord was intending to pass right on by, but the persistence of Bartimaeus caused something very unusual to happen: Jesus stood still (verse 49).
What a beautiful statement. Jesus saw something different about this man, and it stopped Him in His tracks!
Out of all the other people in the crowd that day, it was said to Bartimaeus, Your faith has made you well (verse 52).
What Do You Need Today?
Perhaps you find yourself in a position similar to Bartimaeus.
Jesus is passing by, and you want to make sure you have His attention.
When He hears your cries and stops to stand before you, you must be ready to tell Him the pressing need that’s weighing on your heart today.
Bartimaeus was clear about wanting to receive his sight, of course.
But what miracle do YOU need from the Lord today?
The Bible is full of promises, just waiting for someone like you or me to claim them.
Your Heavenly Father loves you, and nothing is impossible when you call upon Him in faith and tell Him what you need!
In all likelihood, your need isn’t the same as the blind beggar on the outskirts of Jericho.
But I’m convinced Jesus would ask you the same question He asked Bartimaeus…
“What do you want Me to do for YOU?”
I encourage you to take a few minutes to ponder how you would answer this probing question.
Generalities won’t do. Be specific about the miracle you need from God.
If you could ask Him for anything, what would you request?
No matter what you are facing today, the Bible says you don’t have to be anxious or stressed out about anything.
Instead, you can let your requests be made known to God.”
When you do this, you’re promised that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).
So, what is it you need, my friend?
A healing in your body?
A new job or a financial breakthrough?
A restored relationship with your spouse or children?
Deliverance from fear, depression, or loneliness?
Even if there’s a breakthrough you’ve been awaiting for a long time now, I am praying God’s answer is on the way.
Remember: You can ask Him anything!
God bless you,
