The Lord of the
Breakthrough
Breakthrough
The
devil is very often at the root our problems therefore we must resist him and
use our God-given authority to overcome his work in our
lives - no
man is an island, and God has made us that way - we are created to live in
community, in interdependence, with others and we see one of many reasons for
that arrangement in the increased power of prayer when two or more believers
unite their faith for the same purpose

7
keys to breakthrough
1. Don’t be surprised if there are
obstacles in your path
When
we’re born again we are on our way to heaven but we must traverse the narrow
road before we get there!
Remember
how it was for the Children of Israel, before they got to the Promised Land
they had to pass through the wilderness, and once they got into the Promised
Land there were giants to conquer.
Our
personal giants are like Goliath, they mock us and they intimidate us so we get
to feel like we can never overcome them, but with the God of the breakthrough
fighting for us we are well able to deal to them.
Roman
8:37
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him who loved us.”
How
will our praying for breakthroughs change if we were to really understand and
believe this verse?
2.
The anointing brings breakthrough
3. Miracles and breakthroughs are a
part of normal Christianity
These
things are the norm not the exception. Man is designed for the supernatural,
we are wired that way by God.
4.
We are called to breakthrough
Breakthrough
is a part of God’s call on us. We have a breakthrough anointing so if you
are a part of Christ then that is a part of your calling too.
The
good news about that is, that when one person breaks through in a certain area
others will follow.
Remember
the 4-minute mile? People had been trying to achieve this since the days
of the ancient Greeks; they even had lions chase runners to make them go
faster!
Finally,
just last century, Roger Bannister broke the 4-minute mile. Within a year
37 other runners did the same.
The
following year a further 300 runners broke the 4-minute mile. You see, one
man broke through and others followed.
5.
It’s God’s will to give us a breakthrough
1
John 3:8
“He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned
from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He
might destroy the works of the devil.”
What
does this verse tell us about God’s will regarding the “devil’s work”?
The
Bible declares that Jesus came to bind up the broken-hearted, heal the sick,
set captives free, save the lost and drive out demons.
Sometimes
we know God can do what we need Him to do, but we’re not sure it’s His will,
well it’s clear in His word that it is His will to set us free from every work
of Satan.
It’s
important that we get this because it releases faith for a miracle.
6.
God has given us authority over the enemy
The
devil is very often at the root our problems therefore we must resist him and
use our God-given authority to overcome his work in our lives.
Luke
10:18-19
“And He said to them, ‘I saw Satan fall like
lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority
to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and
nothing shall by any means hurt you.’”
How
do we use this authority ...
7.
Agree with others in prayer
Matthew
18:19-20
“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth
concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in
heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My
name, I am there in the midst of them.”
No
man is an island, and God has made us that way.
We
are created to live in community, in interdependence, with others and we see
one of many reasons for that arrangement in the increased power of prayer when
two or more believers unite their faith for the same purpose.
