Symbols And Parables - WHY DOES GOD USE SYMBOLS AND PARABLES? - Jesus spoke in parables because they/we are not paying attention! We see and hear, but do not put any effort into understanding. The truth of the Bible comes to those who put effort into understanding it. Jesus used stories that the hearers would remember. He wanted to tell the people the plain meaning of the lessons that He was illustrating, but many were prejudiced and would not listen except to the stories that He told. Parable speaking was popular in His time and captured the attention of all; the Leaders, the people, and those of other nations. People were curious to find out the meanings of the parables that Jesus taught.

Symbols And Parables

Why does God use symbols and parables?

The Answer to this question can be found in the Bible, let God answer for Himself.
Let the Bible Be its Own Interpreter:
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:
35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
The Meaning of the text is clear. Jesus spoke in parables because they/we are not paying attention!
The Priests and Rabbis were frequently secretly among the people and were waiting for Jesus to say something that they could use against Him, so He could not speak openly and plainly, but the leaders and Rabbis knew what He was saying and implying. John 11:53–54
Remember, Christ is the actual author of all the Bible. John 5:39
Its contents were transmitted through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to human beings. Both the New and Old Testaments.
He wanted us to search His Word diligently to find the lessons and doctrine and messages that He has buried there for us, He wants us to study to find His lessons as if we were searching for earthly treasures.
He knew we would not value a plain straightforward message, and that we would take it for granted, and that we would only value the message if we had to search for it for ourselves. John 5:39–40
God knew that we would misapply, and distort the doctrines that He gave to us plainly, but He concealed His doctrines in Symbolism so that we would search, and discover, and confirm the doctrine that he gave to us through the prophets by Symbolism. Jude 3-4.
Christ veiled many of the doctrines and lessons in Symbols and Signs and Parables so that they would be protected, and could be verified untouched by other human interpretations as they were uncovered in His Word.
Many of the Bible’s books and chapters were written in the time of the Prophets before the time of Christ, by the wisdom of Christ.
These messages were written specifically for the people of that time, but they have a dual meaning in them.
As important as they were to the people of the time that they were written for, they have even greater importance for the people of our time upon which the ends of the earth are come.
Read 1 Corinthians 10:1–13, especially 1 Corinthians 10:6. In light of these texts, we have a lot of homework to do. That is the focus of this website.
The Bible – God’s Proof of His Existence and Divinity:
The Bible is the only book that can and does predict the future 100% accurately.
The Bible is a book that is Divinely inspired. It was given to us through the medium of the Holy Spirit.
As you read and study the content of this website it is my desire that you can see more fully than ever before that the Bible is of Heavenly origin and that no man or group of men could have ever under any circumstances have produced the content that is in the Bible.
The Bible is above every other book ever written, including any other of the “Holy Books”, because it is the only book that can, and does, through Prophecy predict world history in advance.
In fact, God challenges others (gods) to try and predict history in Isaiah 42:8-9; Isaiah 46:9-10Isaiah 41:21–23.
In this last verse, he taunts those who claim to usurp His claim to be the only true God, and to provoke them to try and Prophesy accurately as He does.
Prophecy is proof that God is God, and He does exist, and the Bible (the Word of God) is what it says it is, because no other god can or has predicted history and events 100% as God has.
Some so called prophets such as Nostradamus, Jeane Dixon, and others, can get some predictions right, but remember the old saying that even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
God’s claim is that He is 100% correct, because He knows the end from the beginning. Isaiah 46:10
The Cost of Salvation:
We must be “Safe to Save,” God cannot take Sinners to heaven to risk the recurrence of sin. Nahum 1:9
The Cost of Salvation
The Salvation of the human race is about restoring us to what God Created us to be before sin came into the world.
In order to be saved, we must be safe to save.
That means that God has expended all His effort on this earth to bring it back to what is was originally intended to be at the creation.
Talk about being inconvenienced! Heaven has been on hold for the last 6,000 years since sin came about.
God and all the heavenly hosts have been sidetracked from their normal business for the salvation of this world.
Heaven and its hosts are watching this experiment of Satan as it goes bad.
We are on display to the rest of the universe (Yes God has other beings in other worlds who are uncorrupted by sin Job 1:6–7) to be an example of what the results of sin are.
God has given all in the death of His dear Son, and can’t afford to run this experiment over again.
He cannot allow sin to occur again, therefore in love to us, and the rest of the universe, He cannot take sinners to heaven.
May the value of this website be to inspire all to study deeper and understand the messages that God has given us in His Word.
Both the message that is plain, and on the surface, and the messages that He has veiled in Symbols and Parables.
Why God uses Symbols:
God uses Symbols so that we will dig deep in His Word, and get to know Him, and understand the Price that He has paid for us.
So that we will see that He has laid out the future for us and that we can have confidence in what He has done in the past that will enable our faith for what He is planning for the future.

Bible Symbols are one of the most wonderful and least understood things God has planted in the Bible for teaching us who He is and His ways. Bible Symbols are Gems that need to be mined through deep study of the Bible.
The intention of this website is to teach this type of Bible study to allow the word of God to shine light on the minds of all His people. My hope and prayer is that you will find what is here not only interesting but a revelation and spiritually enabling.
The Scribes and Pharisees Watch to catch Jesus say or do something wrong. Luke 20:20
