Naming Your Seed
What is
“naming your seed?”
Kenneth
Copeland
God
desires to meet our needs and heal us simply because He loves us.
To
connect us with His desire, He has given us a system by which His kingdom
operates, and which we are to operate on this earth.
It’s called sowing and reaping. Galatians 6:7-9 says, “Don’t
be misled — you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what
you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest
decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the
Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of
doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing
if we don’t give up.”
What
naming your seed does is establish a point of contact for your faith.
At times
we may need a “point of contact” to latch onto with our faith.
Some
people give a financial gift, others give of their talent or time.
That item
becomes their point of contact — it’s their seed that they name.
Mark
5:25-34 tells of someone who did this — a woman who had an issue of blood.
She knew
that if she could touch the hem of Jesus’ garment she would be made whole.
The hem
of Jesus’ garment was her point of contact.
It gave
her something tangible to stretch her faith toward. When she touched His
garment she was indeed made whole!
The hem
of Jesus’ garment did not heal the woman in this story. Jesus said that it was
her faith that made her whole (verse
34).
Likewise,
giving money, time or talent and naming that seed for your breakthrough will
not in itself create prosperity or healing.
However,
if you are led by the Holy Spirit to sow a seed as a point of contact for a
breakthrough in a certain area of your life, you can definitely use it as an
anchor for your faith.
God has
plainly declared that we will walk in His blessings when we sow to the spirit.
What
matters ultimately is that we are seeking the Spirit of God and receiving His
direction in our lives.
When the
Lord has led you on a specific path of faith, you can expect results. Always
remember that your healing and prosperity are found in Him!
Kenneth Copeland Ministries' mission is to
minister the Word of Faith, by teaching believers who they are in Christ Jesus;
taking them from the milk of the Word to the meat, and from religion to
reality.
