This holy day
represents a time of renewing our covenant with God.
All believers look forward to the time
when God will truly bring his Kingdom to the earth - an event this day
symbolizes.
“16 There will be the shout of command, the archangel's voice,
the sound of God's trumpet, and the Lord himself will come down from heaven.
Those who have died believing in Christ will rise to life first; 17 then we who are living at that time will be gathered up
along with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.” - (1 Thessalonians 4:16 - 17)
“4 At that time he will stand on the Mount of Olives, to the
east of Jerusalem . . . 9 Then the Lord will be king over all the
earth . . . “- Zechariah 14:4, 9)
Memorial of Blowing
Trumpets
“1 On the first day of the seventh month you
are to gather for worship, and no work is to be done. On that day trumpets are
to be blown” - (Numbers 29)
Always falls on a New
Moon
“10 Also on joyful occasions — at your New Moon Festivals and
your other religious festivals — you are to blow the trumpets” - (Numbers 10)
“Blow the trumpet for
the festival, when the moon is new and when the moon is full” - (Psalm 81:3)
Trumpets Signified
Crowning a King
“The messengers told
everyone, 'When you hear the sound of the trumpets, you must shout, “Absalom
now rules as king in Hebron!”’” - (2 Samuel 15)
“13 At once Jehu's fellow officers spread their cloaks at the
top of the steps for Jehu to stand on, blew trumpets, and shouted, 'Jehu is
king!'” - (2 Kings 9)
Trumpets and God's
Judgment
When the day of the Lord finally arrives,
it will be a day like no other has been, or ever will be.
“Blow the trumpet;
sound the alarm on Zion . . . The day of the Lord is coming soon. 2 It will be a dark and gloomy day, a black and cloudy day.
The great army of locusts advances like darkness spreading over the mountains .
. . How terrible is the day of the Lord! Who will survive it?” - (Joel 2:1-2, 11)
Christ comes to Rule
Earth
In the end time one of God's holy angels
will sound a trumpet designating that His kingdom will be set up on the earth!
Loud voices will
shout for JOY over this wonderful event!
“The power to rule
over the world belongs now to our Lord and his Messiah, and he will rule
forever and ever!” - (Revelation 11:15)
Righteous Dead will
be Resurrected
“And He shall send
His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His
elect from the four winds . . . “- (Matthew 24:31)
Israel to be
Regathered
“12 On that day, from the Euphrates to the Egyptian border,
the Lord will gather his people one by one, as threshing separates the wheat
from the chaff. 13 When that day comes, a trumpet will be
blown . . .” - (Isaiah 27:12-13)
