HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED? - The most amazing thing of all is how much God cares about us – each and every one of us. Amidst the splendor of the universe, a tiny speck within the vast galaxies filled with billions and billions of stars. Yet He loves us so. Deeply. Intimately. Unreservedly. Take a look at the stars. Imagine the vastness of the world we live in. The power, authority and might of our God. This very God loves you so much and sacrificed His beloved Son for you that you may once again be embraced by Him. Take time to wonder at a spectacular world signed with the signature of the Master Creator. And then allow our heart to be lifted high in praise and prayer to the God who made everything wonderful. ‘I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.’ Have you ever marvelled at God’s handiwork? Have you ever stood in awe in the presence of our loving Father? Despite all His greatness. Despite all the wonders of His hands. Perhaps the most amazing thing of all is how much He cares about us – each and every one of us. Amidst the splendour of the universe, a tiny speck within the vast galaxies filled with billions and billions of stars. Yet He loves us so. Deeply. Intimately. Unreservedly. Have you ever wondered why? Perhaps we’d never fully understand the unfathomable depths of God’s love for us. But every once in a while, take a look at the stars.

‘I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.’ - (Psalm 9:1)

Beloved, have you ever wondered?

Have you ever marvelled at God’s handiwork?

Imagine the vastness of the world we live in. The power, authority and might of our God.

Remember that this very God, the one whose very Word the universe hangs on, loves you so much He numbers the hair on your head and sacrificed His beloved Son for you that you may once again be embraced by Him.

What love!

What a miracle!

What a wonder!

Be Greatly Blessed!

Prayer:

Father, God of all creation, all beauty and everything marvellous, I’m filled with wonder and awe as I come to you today.

I want to stop and notice the wonder of all you have created.

Draw my attention to wondrous things.

May I be found with a heart full of awe and praise.

Most of all, thank you once again for loving me.

Although I may never fully understand the depths of your love for me, I yearn to know it more and more.

Help me to spread your wonders and love to more and more people.

In Jesus’ Mighty Name,

AMEN!

Additional Thoughts:

Wonder is the forerunner of prayer.

With stillness and awe at the handiwork of God amongst creation, we position our hearts for prayerfulness and praise.

Wonder brings us up short, as it redirects our attention to things which our beyond our ability to comprehend.

Wonder comes upon us as we experience the mystery of God in the world.

If in doubt, be still long enough to admire the changing hues of the setting sun or the appearance of the starry hosts as He calls them out one by one.

Watch with fascination and admiration a tiny spider spinning its intricately fine web or marvel at the unusual dance of courting flamingos.

The whole world is charged with the grandeur and mystery of God.

Take time to wonder at a spectacular world signed with the signature of the Master Creator.

In a climate of hurry and haste, people have almost lost the ability to wonder.

It has to be rediscovered.

It has to be rekindled, nurtured and given opportunity to grow and flourish.

The path of wonder is the way of simplicity and childlikeness.

Remember when our own backyard seemed big and full of new places to discover?

We must rediscover the child hiding in each of us, waiting to come out and play.

We must find within our own heart the capacity for innocent, childlike wonder; a simple innocence that cannot be stolen by the climate of our times.

Stillness draws out the wonder in each of us.

Stop frequently.

Listen often.

Look with attention at the beauty before us.

Wonder.

And then allow our heart to be lifted high in praise and prayer to the God who made everything wonderful.
