HOW TO BE A BLESSING AND ENCOURAGER WITH OUR WORDS - What a blessing it is to know that God looks on us with a smile on His face, not because of anything we do but because we have decided to follow Jesus - To become God’s own children and co-heirs with Christ - When we speak blessings over someone, we are asking God to invoke His divine favor upon a person. The Aaronic blessing asks God to infuse the Blessee with hope and anticipation that He will: Bless and protect them – God LOVES to bless His children and He wants us to understand that all good things in our life come directly by His hand. To be “protected” or “kept” by the Lord means He insures life and peace that surpassed human standards or understanding. Smile on them – What a blessing it is to know that God looks on us with a smile on His face, not because of anything we do but because we have decided to follow Jesus. Be gracious (merciful and compassionate) – We are asking the Lord to lavish His unmerited grace and mercy on us. To care for us in ways that are only possible by Him. Show his favor toward them. The God who created the earth and everything in it has His loving eye on us and approves of us. The peace of God is a level of peace that is not contingent on our circumstances but rather, rooted in our confidence in God and the knowledge and acceptance of His love for us.

How to be a blessing and encourager with our words - Finding ...”God bless you!”
Bless you, is a phrase we commonly speak over someone after they sneeze or perform a kind act.
Yet, do we really understand the meaning and power behind these words?
The Aaronic Blessing
Numbers 6:24-26 NLT – 24 May the LORD bless you and protect you. 25 May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. 26 May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace.’
In the original text, the Hebrew word, barak, replaces the English word, blessing.
Parasha Naso (Elevate): The Lord Bless You and Keep You ...Barak means to to kneel; by implication to bless (as an act of adoration.)
Therefore, when we speak blessings over someone, we are asking God to invoke His divine favor upon a person.
The Aaronic blessing asks God to infuse the Blessee with hope and anticipation that He will:
·     Bless and protect them – First and foremost, God LOVES to bless His children and He wants us to understand that all good things in our life come directly by His hand.
To be “protected” or “kept” by the Lord means He insures life and peace that surpassed human standards or understanding.
To become God’s own children and co-heirs with Christ
·    Be gracious (merciful and compassionate) – We are asking the Lord to lavish His unmerited grace and mercy on us. To care for us in ways that are only possible by Him
·     Show his favor toward them (give his approval) – Oh how sweet it is to know that the God who created the earth and everything in it has His loving eye on us and approves of us.
God’s favor is a greater blessing than any earthly blessing we could ever receive!
·     Give peace- The peace of God is a level of peace that is not contingent on our circumstances but rather, rooted in our confidence in God and the knowledge and acceptance of His love for us.
The original Hebrew word, Shalowm, is used in place of our English word for peace.
Blessings from Heaven Through the Priestly Blessing | Hoshana ...Shalowm represents a quietness of the soul and spirit, tranquility, and contentment that cannot be experienced outside of the work of the Holy Spirit
Our words have great power to either encourage or discourage others.
God wants us to relate His name to blessings and love, not to curses and hate.
When you ask God to bless others, the blessing you offer will not only help the one receiving it, it will also demonstrate love, encourage others, and provide a model of caring for others.
Who can you speak blessings over today?
Sending peace, love and happiness to all!
