DON’S MINISTRY
Worship In Action (WIA) is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Nashville, Tennessee. Don Moen founded WIA in response to the great needs he encountered while on worship tours around the world.
It became very clear to Don when he met a little girl named Gifty in Accra, Ghana, that God wanted him to do more than just sing and lead people into worship. God wanted Don to step out and be Christ’s hands and feet to hurting people. The purpose of Worship In Action is to do just that: to be the tangible hands and feet of Christ to people who have lost hope.

Story of Hope

This month, Sue shares the story of
how God made a way for her family even when it seemed like all hope was gone.
“HOPE is my favorite word because of
the HOPE we have in the faithful love of our God. Our son Daniel survived three
serious open heart surgeries by the time he was 11 only to be severely brain
injured during a hernia surgery gone wrong in 1996. Three days after the
assault to his brain, as he was fighting for his life in the intensive care
unit, a friend came to see us. She walked to Daniel’s bedside and began
to sing, “God will make a way where there seems to be no way. He works in
ways we cannot see, He will make a way for you…” I had never heard the
song before; I was deeply moved! Immediately I began to ask family and
friends to get me the CD, which they did. I played that song thousands of
times in Daniel’s hospital room over the next four months. The strength
and encouragement I found from the Lord through the words of Don’s song was
nothing short of a miracle. And even more important, I believed those
words! I believed God would make a way for Daniel! A year later, as
I grieved the “loss” of my son as we knew him, we received a newletter from
Joni and Friends. At the top of the second page was this verse, Isaiah
43:18-19… “Do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing.
Do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams
in the wasteland.” I was completely undone! God had brought me full
circle…a year later. Don’s song and that verse changed my life forever
and truly gave me a renewed sense of hope! From despair to hope…God would
make a way! Presently, in 2013, Daniel–although still severely brain
injured–has a college degree in Bible Exposition and Theology, and a book about
his life entitled, “When Losing is Winning,” was recently published and
released. The faithfulness of our God humbles me! And it all
started with a song…a song Don wrote for his own family but one that encouraged
me and gave us a reason to keep hoping, to keep going, to keep trusting
that He would do “exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or think
according to the power that works in us” (Eph. 3:20). Praise God
from Whom all blessings flow… He truly is a faithful God. Thank
you.” – Sue
July Story of Hope

This
month, Carlos tells a beautiful story about how God restored his daughter’s
health and his faith at the same time.
My youngest daughter, Camila,
was born with a respiratory problem that caused her to be hospitalized for 15
days after she was born. Through those 15 days she also had other
problems that kept her at risk to die. My prayer was like Jacob’s claim to be
blessed by the Angel, only that my prayer was that God bless with healing
Camila’s body. But God spoke to my heart to pray as Psalms 46:10: “Be still,
and know that I am God.” That changed my claim to God, to recognize Him as the
sovereign king He is, that He gives, and He takes, that it is His will, not
ours. Since that moment, Camila began to respond to the medications and the
respiratory machine and began to eat normally. Now she’s almost 2 years old and
God has being showing us His faithfulness in her life. She’s now
recovering of an ocular disease that could have made her blind. God is good all
the time, His faithfulness endures forever, glory to our Lord God Almighty, my
Lovely Healer, the great I AM!!!!

Story of Hope

For this month’s Story of Hope,
Nancy shares a moving story which shows us what faithful prayer can do.
One morning getting ready for
work God told me to pray for my daughter Kelly who was driving to Atlanta for a
meeting, this was at 7:20
am and at 7:30
am the phone rings and it is Kelly and I could tell
something was wrong. She explained to me she thought she was going to die that
morning. In front of her was as small truck with a ladder that came flying off
and headed right for her and should of come crashing through the windshield,
but as it was 1 inch from hitting her, it was like the ladder was lifted up and
over her car and did not even hit the back of her car or any other car that was
further behind her. She said it was like a hand had lifted it up and over and
she didn’t know how that could of happened. I asked her what time did this
happened and she said 7:20 and
I proceeded to tell her that I heard God say, “Start praying for Kelly.” Which
I did immediately. We both got to see the hand of God in our lives, so when
people do not believe in prayer, I always tell them that it makes all the
difference in the world. We need to stay in prayer, always keep a loving
relationship with God, and always be aware of His voice when He speaks to us in
different ways. I give God all the glory for how He saved and
protected my daughter that day. In my life He has done this many times with
many other stories and I love when I see God working in my life or other lives
that I pray for. There is power in prayer!!! Amen.
