HE SINGS A MELODY OVER YOU - Our heavenly Father will never let suffering, pain, and disappointment have the last word. The last note belongs to Him. Even in your hardship and sorrow, He sings a melody of hope, comfort, and victory over you. What a wonderful thought. The psalmist says “At night his song is with me.” “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” When you find yourself restless, lonely, or downcast, you may find comfort in singing an old, favorite hymn or Christian song. You sing it to yourself as a reminder that God is with you. And you sing it to God, praising Him in faith, even when you’ve left your feelings far behind. But God also sings to you. “The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” That verse may be the only happy moment in the entire book of Zephaniah, coming on the heels of image after image of gloom and doom. Our heavenly Father will never let suffering, pain, and disappointment have the last word. The last note belongs to Him. Even in your hardship and sorrow, He sings a melody of hope, comfort, and victory over you. What a wonderful thought, Lord God. How I welcome Your songs over my life! I will listen for them and sing back to You.

He Sings a Melody Over You

“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” - Zephaniah 3:17

When you find yourself restless, lonely, or downcast, you may find comfort in singing an old, favorite hymn or Christian song.

You sing it to yourself as a reminder that God is with you.

And you sing it to God, praising Him in faith, even when you’ve left your feelings far behind.

But did you know that God also sings to you?

Today’s Scripture reads, “The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”

That verse may be the only happy moment in the entire book of Zephaniah, coming on the heels of image after image of gloom and doom.

But it tells us that our heavenly Father will never let suffering, pain, and disappointment have the last word.

The last note belongs to Him.

Even in your hardship and sorrow, He sings a melody of hope, comfort, and victory over you.

What a wonderful thought, Lord God.

The psalmist says You sing at night, in the darkest hours: “At night his song is with me.” (Psalm 42:8).

I have heard Your voice, though sometimes in my pain it seems faint and far away.

How I welcome Your songs over my life! I will listen for them and sing back to You.
