Free In Christ
Only those who have a relationship built on faith in Christ are free,
all others are under a yoke of slavery.
.
The burdensome yoke of religious works and observances obstructs us from knowing Christ in the way He wants us to know Him. We are to devote ourselves to living a life of faith in Christ, seeking to know Him in a personal and real way, rather than seeking to please Him through the practice of religious rules and regulations.
.
We do not have to come to Him through self-effort, but instead by accepting Jesus and the work He has done for us. This indeed is good news for those who are being strangled and burdened by religious laws. Let us claim our rightful place, not as slaves to dead works, but children set free by Christ’s work at Calvary. Live free. Live loved. Live as God’s beloved child.

‘It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand
firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.’ - (Galatians 5:1)
Congratulations! You’ve been completely set
free.
By the grace of God. Through the work of
Christ.
You’re now free of all shackles.
Free from sin.
Free from curses.
Free from fear.
Jesus has carried your yoke. He took on
your punishment. He died in your place.
Go free. Go in love.
Stand firm in your newfound freedom. Do not
let yourself be weighed down again by the tricks of the evil one.
You’re free.
Free to stand in God’s presence. Free to
receive His blessings.
Free to give. Free to love. Free to live.
Rest in freedom.
For Jesus’ work is finished. It is done.
Let it be so.
Be Greatly Blessed!
Prayer:
Father, thank you for the freedom that you’ve given me
through Christ.
The freedom to be who I am in your presence.
Forgive me for my trying to please you through my
works. For this does not please you at all.
Instead, shine your light and love into my heart and
give me fresh revelation and understanding of what Jesus has already done.
Help me to live in such a way that my faith in Christ
is all that matters.
I now receive the life of freedom you’ve so graciously
gifted me.
In Jesus’ Mighty Name,
AMEN!

Thoughts:
Almost from the beginning there has been
forces at work within Christianity that try to destroy the good news of salvation.
Such forces that deny the work of Jesus
Christ at Calvary and instead proclaim that one’s salvation is dependent upon
what we do or don’t do.
In short, God’s favour is earned by good
works and good behaviour. If our righteousness could be achieved this way, then
wouldn’t Christ’s death have been in vain and the grace of God made obsolete?
‘You are observing special days and months and seasons
and years! I fear for you that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you.’ - Galatians 4:10-11
Paul expressed great concern for the church
in Galatia who were turning back to those weak and miserable principles that
kept them enslaved.
He feared all his instruction had been a
wasted effort. Freedom, Paul said, is found not in the works of the law, but
through faith in Jesus Christ.
Only those who have a relationship built on
faith in Christ are free, all others are under a yoke of slavery.
The burdensome yoke of religious works and
observances, which held the Galatian church in a state of slavery, obstructs us
from knowing Christ in the way He wants us to know Him.
We are to devote ourselves to living a life
of faith in Christ, seeking to know Him in a personal and real way, rather than
seeking to please Him through the practice of religious rules and regulations.
We do not have to come to Him through
self-effort, but instead by accepting Jesus and the work He has done for us.
This indeed is good news for those who are
being strangled and burdened by religious laws.
Allow the Holy Spirit to ease our
compulsions to please God and therefore earn our salvation.
Let us claim our rightful place, not as
slaves to dead works, but children set free by Christ’s work at Calvary.
Live free.
Live loved.
Live as God’s beloved child.
