Perfect Peace in Stormy Times
by Ben Cerullo
If you’re
anchored to God’s Word, you’ll never go adrift amid the wind and waves of life.
In a world
facing uncertain times, God’s people need His peace more than ever.
Our prayer
ministers at Inspiration Ministries pray every day with people who are
experiencing serious health problems, financial pressures, family conflicts,
and other stressful situations.
However, I’m
convinced that it’s possible to find God’s peace even amid the stormy and stressful
seasons of life.
During
difficult times, I encourage you to pause and look past the temporary cares and
trials of this world.
Fix your eyes on Jesus, “the author and finisher
of our faith.”
When you do, you’ll be able to walk safely through the howling
wind and waves around you, for He’s telling you, “Be of good cheer! It is I;
do not be afraid” (Matthew 14:22-33).
Isaiah 26:3
promises that when you are fully trusting in the Lord, you can experience His
supernatural peace even when times are tough.
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on
You, because he trusts in You.”
Isn’t that good
news?
Jesus offers
hope for the hopeless. He’s our strength and confidence, our rock in times of
trouble.
Although He never said life would be easy, He gave us this great
promise: “Trusting Me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace”
(John 16:33 MSG).
So. stop
dwelling on your problems, and start looking at Jesus. Stay focused on who HE
is, and remember who YOU are in Him.
Stay anchored in
His Word no matter what you see happening around you.
When your life is anchored in God’s faithfulness, you will “abound
in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:13).
Regardless of
the storms that may come, your anchor will hold firm, and you’ll be unshakable
even in life’s fiercest storms!
