widest success when it was recorded by American singer Little Peggy March with English lyrics in 1963. The music was written by Franck Pourcel (using the pseudonym J.W. Stole) and Paul Mauriat (using the pseudonym Del Roma). It was adapted by Arthur Altman. The English lyrics were
written by Norman Gimbel.
Paul Mauriat plays
the hits of 1976. Originally performed by Petula Clark, then covered by Little
Peggy March. Paul co-wrote the song in 1962 wih his friend and bandleader
Franck Pourcel - using at that time, the pseudonyms of Del Roma and J.W. Stole.
It was featured in the movie "Sister Act" (1992) with Whoopi Goldberg.
