RAISE THE ROD OF GOD - How many of us intercede in prayer until we are exhausted and keep going. Intercede until you are weary, teamed, and exhausted, with no words to say. Then begin to allow your spirit to go into intercession, pray in your prayer language and push it through. We often take the fight into our own strength, our own strategies, rather than lifting up our hands in intercession and letting the Lord make war on our enemies. Many battles are fought and won by intercession, raise the rod of God!

Many battles are fought and won by intercession, raise the rod of God!
We often take the fight into our own strength, our own strategies, rather than lifting up our hands in intercession and letting the Lord make war on our enemies.
How many of us intercede in prayer until we are exhausted and keep going.
I would say most have no idea as to what that is like. Yet that is how battles are fought and won.
Intercede until you are weary, teamed, and exhausted, with no words to say.
Then begin to allow your spirit to go into intercession, pray in your prayer language and push it through.
I have watched for years as I have seen my wife do this time and time again.
Crying out in the mid-watch when others are sleeping and resting.
Praying in tongues till all she could do was lay prostrate before a Holy God on the floor of her prayer room.
She has seen many victories, heard many answers and given many revelations.
That is a warrior! I am learning, that is a true help mate, I am thankful.
Take Action
“Then came Amalek [descendants of Esau] and fought with Israel at Rephidim. And Moses said to Joshua, ‘Choose us out men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.’
“So Joshua did as Moses said and fought with Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the hilltop. When Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed; and when he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed.
“But Moses’ hands were heavy and grew weary. So [the other men] took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it.
“Then Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side and one on the other side; so his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua mowed down and disabled Amalek and his people with the sword.” Exodus 17:8-13 AMPC

Welcome to River’s Edge Church, Dallas Georgia in the New Hope Area outside of Atlanta. Jesus said “it is to my father’s glory that you bear much fruit.” He desires us to be fruitful in our everyday lives. To make a difference outside the walls of the church, to change lives and impact a world around us with His love. To be a church that really cares, really loves, and a church where people… they really matter.
We as a people are in a time and season where our entire world is covered with substitutions, counterfeit everything. A watching world, though it may not believe in the one who created them, are created with a void to only be filled with the awareness and knowing of God. They are not looking for another event, show or entertainment, but authentic encounters with the God that created them in His own image. As “Iron Sharpens Iron” they spur each other on in growth and a walk with God. We are to no longer simply be a “Christian” but more than that, a “Follower” of Christ. A community that is creating fruit bearers, teaching one to lead every member a minister, and the priesthood of all believers. It is recognizing every man and women’s desire to be used of God. A village that will raise the children and teach them in the way they should go. Friends who will hold their friends accountable and women who will journey with other women. A fellowship of believers that believe in healing, and of the deliverance of the oppressed and tormented. Teaching our children that our God is not a God of history alone, but a God of now.

AMILLENNIALISM - There have been a number of frameworks developed to describe Christ’s return and the events surrounding that return. At the center of each of these is a passage describing the binding of Satan; the resurrection, judgment, and a thousand-year reign of martyrs along with Christ; followed by the loosing of Satan, a final battle, and judgement on Satan. The thousand-year period in the middle of this passage is termed the millennium. Each of the major frameworks is identified by how they understand this period. Premillennialists understand Christ’s return to come prior to this millennial period. Postmillennialists and Amillennialists understand Christ’s return to occur after the millennial. Postmillennialists see the millennial as a physical reality on earth while Amillennialists see it as a spiritual reign in heaven.

Christ is returning for his church. On that, nearly all Christians agree.
But there is no universal consensus as to what that second coming will be like.
Over the history of the church, there have been a number of frameworks developed to describe Christ’s return and the events surrounding that return.
And at the center of each of these is a short passage in Revelation 20:1-10.
This passage describes the binding of Satan; the resurrection, judgment, and a thousand-year reign of martyrs along with Christ; followed by the loosing of Satan, a final battle, and judgement on Satan.
The thousand-year period in the middle of this passage is termed the millennium. And each of the major frameworks is identified by how they understand this period.
Premillennialists understand Christ’s return to come prior to this millennial period.
Postmillennialists and Amillennialists understand Christ’s return to occur after the millennial.
They differ in that Postmillennialists see the millennial as a physical reality on earth while Amillennialists see it as a spiritual reign in heaven.
What is Amillennialism?
Amillennialism is actually misnamed. The ‘a’ at the beginning means ‘no’, indicating the proponents of this position believe there will be no millennial reign.
But that is not accurate. A better title would be something like ‘realized millennialism’, indicating that we are currently in the millennium.
Amillennialism is not new. Many throughout the history of the church have held it.
And by the time of Augustine, it had become the dominant view of the church.
It is still the dominant view of the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Roman Catholic Church, and many Protestants.
And it was the view of the reformers, including Calvin and Luther.
Amillennialism understands the Kingdom of God proclaimed by Jesus and his apostles to be synonymous with the millennial kingdom of Revelation 20:4-6.
The kingdom of God is a present-day reality with Christ ruling from heaven. And it is a kingdom populated by all those who have given their lives to the lordship of Jesus.
The Millennium
So how do Amillennialists understand these 10 verses in Revelation 20 that talk about Satan’s binding, the thousand-year rule of Christ, followed by the release of Satan?
First, we do not understand them to be symbolic. They are describing real events.
Secondly, we do understand that there is much symbolism throughout the book of Revelation.
And, finally, that Revelation was written to give encouragement to the church of its day. While it does point to end times, it was also about what was happening in the first century.
Satan’s Binding
Satan’s binding seems to usher in this thousand-year rule. So, when does this binding occur?
While some will point to this being a future event, the Bible gives plenty of clues to indicate that it has already occurred.
·      In Matthew 12:28-29 the strong man (Satan?) is tied up and his house robbed.
·      In John 12:31 Jesus, just prior to the cross, says that the time for judgment has come. And the prince of this world would be driven out.
·     In Colossian 2:15 Paul says that Jesus triumphed over satanic powers by the cross.
·     In Hebrews 2:14-15 we read that Christ, by his own death, destroyed the power of the devil.
·     And, in 1 John 3:8, John says that Christ appeared to destroy the work of the devil.
Satan’s influence over the world seems great right now. But he is bound and limited in his ability to deceive the nations.
But that binding will come to an end at some time in the future.
The First Resurrection
Revelation 20:4-6 is less about a thousand-year rule and more about what it calls the first resurrection.
This resurrection involves only believers. Believers who have given their lives for Jesus and refused to worship the beast.
These believers will reign with Christ for this thousand years and will not be harmed by the second death.
The rest of the dead do not come to life until the thousand years are over.
So, who are these who participate in the first resurrection?
While some would argue that they are limited to only tribulation martyrs, Amillennialists believe that these include all believers who have died.
In Philippians 1:23 Paul expresses that he longs to depart and to be with Christ. He anticipates that at his physical death he will enter the presence of Christ.
We see this resurrection not as being a one-time event at some point in the future. But rather as an ongoing harvest of believers.
Each of us, when we leave this life, is ushered into the presence of Christ and rule in his kingdom.
Duration of the Millennium
Amillennialists believe that the millennium is a heavenly rule inaugurated at the death and resurrection of Christ and concluding at his return.
The thousand-year span given in Revelation 20:1-10 is not a literal thousand years.
Rather it symbolizes a long period. It represents the entire church age from the cross to the second coming.
The Last Battle
In Revelation 20:7-10 Satan is released from his prison, deceives the nations, and gathers them together to do battle.
He leads his army against the camp of God’s people, but fire from heaven destroys his army and Satan himself is cast into the Lake of Fire.
The same Lake of Fire holds the Beast and the False Prophet, and that will hold those whose names are not written in the Book of Life.
But this is not the only great battle mentioned in Revelation.
In Revelation 16:12-14 the sixth angel pours out his bowl, and a great army gathers for the battle on the great day of God almighty.
There is no mention of this battle being fought. But it would seem to be the same battle described in Revelation 20:7-10.
In Revelation 19:19-20 the Beast and False Prophet gather the kings of the earth and their armies to do battle against a heavenly rider on a horse.
A rider that appears very much to be Jesus. And the result is the same as the battle in Revelation 20:7-10. Destruction and the Lake of Fire.
Rather than three separate battles, these all appear to be the same battle mentioned three different times.
This battle is fought at the end of the age, and ushers in the final resurrection and judgment of the dead along with the New Heaven and Earth. It represents Satan’s final attempt to thwart God’s plan for his creation.
Summary of Amillennialism
Amillennialists believe in a literal reign of Christ, along with his resurrected saints. But we believe this reign is a heavenly one rather than on the earth.
We believe it is a present-day reality. And that it involves all believers, in particular, those who have died and are with Christ.

PREPARING FOR DIFFICULT TIMES - There will be difficult times in life. Prepare yourself before they come. If you do, you will survive or even thrive. Prepare early by building an emergency fund. Start building your network of relationships long before you need it. And remember, the way to build it is by giving. Be there to help them and don’t keep score. Knowledge is essential for making good decisions. Read blogs. Read books. Watch lectures. Learn from other people’s experiences. You need faith. You may not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, so you need faith to keep going. A strong faith, however, doesn’t come overnight. You need to build it over time through spiritual habits - praying and reading the Scripture.

Preparing For Difficult Times
4 Essential Things You Need to Prepare for Difficult Times
Donald Latumahina
Life Optimizer

Whether you like it or not, the fact is that there will be difficult times in life.
So, the best thing you can do is to prepare yourself before they come. If you do, you will survive or even thrive.
But if you don’t, such times could ruin you. It’s your preparation that makes the difference.
Preparation takes time though, so don’t wait until the last moment before you start. Start early so that you will be ready when the time comes.
I’m sure there are others, but here are four essential things you need to prepare for difficult times:
1. Emergency fund
Bad things could happen to your personal finance. For instance, you could lose your job or have to pay a big medical expense.
If you aren’t prepared, such events could damage not only your personal finance, but also your health and relationship.
Prepare yourself early by building an emergency fund. Most experts say that you should save at least three months of living expenses there.
2. Network of relationships
When something bad happens, you can get the help you need through your network. If you lost your job, for instance, you can find a new job through your circle of friends.
Start building your network long before you need it. And remember, the way to build it is by giving. Be there to help them and don’t keep score.
3. Knowledge
Knowledge is essential for making good decisions. Why? Because it helps you know what options are available and how to compare them with each other.
People often make bad decisions simply because they don’t know that there are better options. Or perhaps they don’t know how to evaluate those options.
Build your knowledge so that you won’t fall into that trap. Read blogs. Read books. Watch lectures.
Don’t learn things yourself the hard way. Instead, learn from other people’s experiences.
4. Faith
When you are in a dark time, the most important thing you need is faith. Why? Because you may not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, so you need faith to keep going.
A strong faith, however, doesn’t come overnight. You need to build it over time through spiritual habits. In my case, those habits are praying and reading the Scripture.
Do what works for you and start building your faith. Don’t wait. You will be glad you did.

My name is Donald Latumahina and I live in Indonesia. I’m an avid learner who has a deep passion for information technology (IT) and personal effectiveness.
Since 1994 when I got my first computer, I have already “fallen in love” with computers. IT gives me a huge opportunity to learn new things which is very exciting for me. On the other hand, I also liked organizational activities such as student council. Through these activities, I could develop skills which I couldn’t get in class such as management and interpersonal skill.
I believe that every person has a huge potential which is commonly underdeveloped, and because of that, I’m also very interested in personal effectiveness. Unleashing the full potential of myself and others has become my ultimate goal.

Life Optimizer is about reaching your full potential. I believe that many people (including me) live below their maximum potential. While they do achieve things in life, there are still many more that they can achieve. The problem is that they don’t optimize their lives. There are aspects of their lives that can be made better and more effective than they are now.

MISTY - Johnny Mathis - Ella Fitzgerald - Erroll Garner - Johnny Burke - Look at me I'm as helpless as a kitten up a tree And I feel like I'm clinging to a cloud I can't understand I get misty just holding your hand Walk my way And a thousand violins begin to play Or it might be the sound of your hello That music I hear I get misty the moment you're near You can say that you're leading me on But it's just what I want you to do Don't you notice how hopelessly I'm lost? That's why I'm following you On my own Would I wander through this wonderland alone Never knowing my right foot from my left My hat from my glove I'm too misty and too much in love Look at me You can say that you're leading me on But it's just what I want you to do Don't you notice how hopelessly I'm lost? Look at me
I'm as helpless as a kitten up a tree
And I feel like I'm clinging to a cloud
I can't understand

I get misty just holding your hand

[Verse 2]
Walk my way
And a thousand violins begin to play
Or it might be the sound of your hello
That music I hear
I get misty the moment you're near

[Verse 3]
You can say that you're leading me on
But it's just what I want you to do
Don't you notice how hopelessly I'm lost?
That's why I'm following you

On my own
Would I wander through this wonderland alone
Never knowing my right foot from my left
My hat from my glove
I'm too misty and too much in love

"Misty" is a jazz standard written in 1954 by pianist Erroll Garner. He composed it as an instrumental on the traditional 32-bar format and recorded it for the album Contrasts (1955). Lyrics were added later by Johnny Burke. It became the signature song of Johnny Mathis, appearing on his 1959 album Heavenly and reaching number 12 on the U.S. Pop Singles chart later that year. Country and pop singer Ray Stevens had a number 14 hit with his version of "Misty" in 1975 on the Billboard Hot 100. This version reached number two in the United Kingdom. The song has been recorded many times, including versions by Ella FitzgeraldAretha FranklinFrank SinatraSarah Vaughan, and, most recently, by Alternative Rock Band QUI.
Although there were already several released versions, the Mathis version recorded in April 1959 popularized this virtually unknown Garner song. It inspired Clint Eastwood to use the instrumental in his 1971 film Play Misty for Me, a low-budget film that proved to be a box-office success. Eastwood, a fan of Mathis, ended up paying a nominal fee for the Garner recording in his film.
