OVERCOME ANXIETY, TRUST HIM - When anxiety surges and emotions swell, may you discern the source and grab hold of the truth. The best thing you can do is to step out of your current frame of mind and do something altogether different - rise up from there and remember who you are. You have the living, breathing Word of God. And you have the Holy Spirit within you to guide you through every twist and turn of your journey. May the presence of God — this very moment — bring peace to your troubled soul. You'll get through the surge, and you'll smile again. “. . . fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.” - May the peace of God — right now — calm your anxious heart. May the presence of God — this very moment — bring peace to your troubled soul. When anxiety surges and emotions swell, may you discern the source and grab hold of the truth. Step out of your current frame of mind and do something altogether different. Worship Jesus with reckless abandon. You're not at the mercy of those moments. You don't have to stay there. So rise up from there and remember who you are. You'll get through the surge, and you'll smile again. You'll get to the other side and feel "normal" again. So don't let those anxious moments swallow up your day. You have tools in your toolbox. You have the living, breathing Word of God. And you have the Holy Spirit within you to guide you through every twist and turn of your journey. You'll get through this.

“. . . fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.” - Philippians 4:8

May the peace of God — right now — calm your anxious heart.

May the presence of God — this very moment — bring peace to your troubled soul.

When anxiety surges and emotions swell, may you discern the source and grab hold of the truth.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is to step out of your current frame of mind and do something altogether different.

Dance. Sing. Watch a funny movie.

Go for a walk.

Better yet, worship Jesus with reckless abandon.

“Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ. So keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind. And fasten your thoughts on every glorious work of God, praising him always.” - Philippians 4:6-8 TPT

CHOKING ON THORNS - Thorny weeds have no value - they steal space, water, sunlight, and soil nutrients from plants. The bigger they get, the harder they are to pull out - no wonder Jesus used this analogy for worldly treasures and earthly worries that choke the growth of God's Word in our hearts. We can't serve two masters because we'll end up hating one of them. Just as a gardener must regularly pull up the thorns in his garden, we must pull up the thorns in our hearts. This 1-minute devotion explains what Jesus meant when he talked about people who have thorns in their lives. “Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.” Let this devotion encourage you to get rid of any that you might have. Thorny weeds: they have no value, but they steal space, water, sunlight, and soil nutrients from plants. The bigger they get, the harder they are to pull out.
No wonder Jesus used this analogy for worldly treasures and earthly worries that choke the growth of God's Word in our hearts (Matthew 13:7; and verse 22).

Are you willing to do some "weeding" today?

Hi!  I'm Gail Burton Purath. I started Bible Love Notes to give people a minute of Scriptural encouragement in their busy day.
I don't have all the answers, but
since I asked Christ to be my Lord and Savior in 1974, I've been learning from the One Who has all the answers!

I'm still a sinner, a learner, a student who falls down and disappoints God at times. But it's my desire to grow closer to the Lord, day by day, minute by minute.
I need to be challenged, encouraged, corrected and comforted, and I think you do as well...so let's learn together about the love of God--a love that is so vast that we will always be discovering new and wonderful things about it.

WORRYING ABOUT TOMORROW - It is good to have a course of action and know where we are going - if we have nothing to aim for, we will miss the mark every time. Careful planning is thinking ahead about goals and putting into place a course of action to reach those goals. Life happens in the midst of plans, and that it is best to hold things lightly and trust God to work everything out for good, even when events take a different turn to what was had expected - God’s ability to direct our lives is way beyond our own - Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Planning about tomorrow is time well spent; worrying about tomorrow is time wasted. Sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference though isn’t it? We can become so engrossed in our future plans that our planning begins to consume us as we worry that everything will work out as hoped. Wise planning can quickly spiral downwards into anxiety, worry and undue stress. Careful planning is thinking ahead about goals and putting into place a course of action to reach those goals. Wise planners, however, know that life happens in the midst of plans, and that it is best to hold things lightly and trust God to work everything out for good, even when events take a different turn to what was had expected. Proverbs reminds us that ‘In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.’

‘Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.’ - Matthew 6:34 (NIV).

Bible Verse – Matthew 6:34 « Our Daily BlossomPlanning about tomorrow is time well spent; worrying about tomorrow is time wasted.

MATTHEW 6:34 | A CHRISTIAN PILGRIMAGEWise planning can quickly spiral downwards into anxiety, worry and undue stress.
Careful planning is thinking ahead about goals and putting into place a course of action to reach those goals.
Wise planners, however, know that life happens in the midst of plans, and that it is best to hold things lightly and trust God to work everything out for good, even when events take a different turn to what was had expected.
Proverbs reminds us that ‘In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.’ (Proverbs 16:9).
Even the very best of plans can go astray if they are not part of God’s purposes for His children.
Be Greatly Blessed!
Prayer:
Matthew 6:34 niv - a photo on Flickriver‘Heavenly Father, help me to plan wisely and then offer all to you. I know that your ways for me are the best and I trust that you will direct my footsteps into all that is good. Thank you.’
Thank you.
In Jesus’ Mighty Name,

Final Thoughts:
When planning is done well though, it can certainly help to alleviate worry and stress.
It is good to have a course of action and know where we are going.
If we have nothing to aim for, we will miss the mark every time.
Matthew 6:34 – WhollyLovedHowever, if our planning only results in worry and fear, this will most likely mean we are not trusting God with the ultimate outcome, but instead trying to take matters into our own hands.
Jeremiah wisely said, ‘I know, O Lord, that a man’s life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps.’ (Jeremiah 10:23).
God’s ability to direct our lives is way beyond our own.
Let’s not allow our worries over the future to interfere with our relationship with God today.
Nothing, not even our plans, must come before Him.
