APRIL LOVE - Pat Boone - Paul Francis Webster - Sammy Fain - April love is for the very young Every star's a wishing star that shines for you April love is all the seven wonders One little kiss can tell you this is true Sometimes an April day will suddenly bring showers Rain to grow the flowers for her first bouquet But April love can slip right through your fingers So if she's the one, don't let her run away Sometimes an April day will suddenly bring showers Rain to grow the flowers for her first bouquet But April love can slip right through your fingers So if she's the one, don't let her run away April love is for the very young Every star's a wishing star that shines for you April love is all the seven wonders One little kiss can tell you this is true Sometimes an April day will suddenly bring showers Rain to grow the flowers for her first bouquet But April love can slip right through your fingers So if she's the one, don't let her run away Sometimes an April day will suddenly bring showers Rain to grow the flowers for her first bouquet But April love can slip right through your fingers So if she's the one, don't let her run away April love is for the very young Every star's a wishing star that shines for you April love is all the seven wonders April love is for the very young Every star's a wishing star that shines for you April love is all the seven wonders One little kiss can tell you this is true So if she's the one, don't let her run away

April Love

Pat Boone

Words : Paul Francis Webster

Music  : Sammy Fain

lyrics

April love is for the very young
Every star's a wishing star that shines for you
April love is all the seven wonders
One little kiss can tell you this is true

Sometimes an April day will suddenly bring showers
Rain to grow the flowers for her first bouquet
But April love can slip right through your fingers
So if she's the one, don't let her run away

Sometimes an April day will suddenly bring showers
Rain to grow the flowers for her first bouquet
But April love can slip right through your fingers
So if she's the one, don't let her run away

YOU'RE CLOSER TO ME - Matt Monro - You’re closer to me Than the shore is to the waves of the sea Than a leaf is to a bow of a tree Oh my love no one else can be closer to me You’re closer by far Than a moonbeam to the bright of the star Than your laughter to the place where you are Oh my love stay as close ever closer to me Every day let me be closer to you far away I couldn’t live a day through though they say People in love can be blind With every new moment I find You’re closer to me Than a bird is to the air as it flies Than the tears are to a child when it cries And when I see the sky high above Then I pray that as close as we grow We would show to the world that we know Just how close we can be now we found true love Then I pray that as close as we grow We would show to the world that we know Just how close we can be now we found true love You’re closer to me Than a bird is to the air as it flies Than the tears are to a child when it cries And when I see the sky high above Then I pray that as close as we grow We would show to the world that we know Just how close we can be now we found true love Then I pray that as close as we grow We would show to the world that we know Just how close we can be now we found true love Then I pray that as close as we grow We would show to the world that we know Just how close we can be now we found true love

  lyrics

You’re closer to me
Than the shore is to the waves of the sea
Than a leaf is to a bow of a tree
Oh my love no one else can be closer to me

You’re closer by far
Than a moonbeam to the bright of the star
Than your laughter to the place where you are
Oh my love stay as close ever closer to me

Everyday let me be closer to you far away
I couldn’t live a day through though they say
People in love can be blind
With every new moment I find

You’re closer to me
Than a bird is to the air as it flies
Than the tears are to a child when it cries
And when I see the sky high above
Then I pray that as close as we grow
We would show to the world that we know
Just how close we can be now we found true love

Then I pray that as close as we grow
We would show to the world that we know
Just how close we can be now we found true love

Matt Monro (born Terence Edward Parsons, 1 December 1930 – 7 February 1985)[3] was an English singer who became one of the most popular entertainers on the international music scene during the 1960s and 1970s. Known as The Man with the Golden Voice, he filled cabaretsnightclubs, music halls, and stadiums across the world in his 30-year career. AllMusic has described Monro as "one of the most underrated pop vocalists of the '60s", who "possessed the easiest, most perfect baritone in the business".[2] His recordings include the UK Top 10 hits: "Portrait of My Love", "My Kind of Girl", "Softly As I Leave You", "Walk Away" and "Yesterday" (originally by The Beatles). He also recorded several film themes such as "From Russia with Love" for the James Bond film of the same name, "Born Free" for the film of the same name and "On Days Like These" for The Italian Job.

(Doo-doo-doom, doo-doo-doom, doo-doo-doom)

(Rep-reddah-rep)

(Doo-doo-doom, doo-doo-doom, doo-doo-doom)

(Rep-reddah-rep)

Till then, my darling, please wait for me
Till then, no matter when it will be
One day, I know I'll be back again
Please wait, till then

Our dreams will live though we are apart
Our love, I know it'll keep in our hearts
Till then, when all the world will be free
Please wait for me

Although there are oceans we must cross
And mountains that we must climb

I know every gain must have a loss So pray that our loss is nothing but time

Till then, let's dream of what there will be
Till then, we'll call on each memory
Till then, when I will hold you again
Please wait till then

Although there are oceans we must cross
And mountains that we must climb
I know every gain must have a loss
So pray that our loss is nothing but time

Till then, let's dream of what there will be
Till then, we'll call on each memory
Till then, when I will hold you again
Please wait till then (Ooh)

"Till Then" is a popular song written by Eddie SeilerSol Marcus, and Guy Wood and published in 1944.

The song was a plea (presumably by a soldier off to fight the war) to his sweetheart to wait for him until he could get back home. Like many war-themed songs, it enjoyed great popularity when it came out in 1944, and versions by The Mills Brothers and the Les Brown orchestra dominated the charts. The recording by The Mills Brothers was released by Decca Records as catalog number 18599. It first reached the Billboard magazine Best Seller chart on September 21, 1944, and lasted three weeks on the chart, peaking at No. 8 (a two-sided hit, backed by "You Always Hurt the One You Love"). It also topped the R&B charts.

Ten years later, the song once more became quite popular. Both a doo-wop version by Sonny Til & The Orioles and a traditional pop version by The Hilltoppers charted that year. The recording by The Hilltoppers was released by Dot Records as catalog number 15132. It first reached the Billboard Best Seller chart on January 23, 1954, and spent 11 weeks on the chart, peaking at No. 10.

The song has continued to be popular, with versions recorded in later years by such as Sammy Davis Jr.James Brown, and Al Martino. A 1963 version by The Classics reached No. 20 on the chart.

The Mills Brothers' version of the song was featured on an episode of the TV show The Others entitled "Till Then" (April 29, 2000, Season 1 – Episode 10).

The Mills Brothers' recording of the song can be heard in Millennium episode "Matryoshka", which starred Lance Henriksen and first aired on 19 February 1999.

The song has recently been covered by the Missouri band The Cotton Mollies.

“Till Then” became popular among loved ones who were separated in WW2. The lyrics giving a message of hope that their love will continue all throughout the war. They will be able to see each other “Till Then”

Originally known as “The Four Kings of Harmony”, the Mills Brothers were an African-American jazz and pop vocal quartet formed in 1928 consisting of 4 brothers: Harry (1913-1982), Donald (1915 -1999), Herbert (1912-1989) and John Jr. (1910-1936). Born in Piqua, Ohio, they first began singing in church Choir and performing on the street. They eventually entered an amateur contest at May’s Opera House, during which Harry lost his kazoo and had to improvise by cupping his hands over his mouth and imitating the sound of the instrument.

FIRST LOVE NEVER DIES - Jerry Fuller - All at once I miss you So long since I've kissed you How I love to look into your eyes Yes I still dream about you My world is lost without you For you are my first love, and First love never ever dies Whenever I feel lonely I'm thinking of you only One last kiss and then we said goodbye The love I left behind me Comes back to remind me That you were my first love, and First love never ever dies The love I left behind me Comes back to remind me That you were my first love, and First love never ever dies And if you're thinking of me And you find that you still love me There's no use to go on living lies Let's hurry to each other For there could be no other Yes, you were my first love, and First love never ever dies First love never ever dies And if you're thinking of me And you find that you still love me There's no use to go on living lies Let's hurry to each other For there could be no other Yes, you were my first love, and First love never ever dies First love never ever dies

All at once I miss you
So long since I've kissed you
How I love to look into your eyes

Image result for FIRST LOVE NEVER DIESYes I still dream about you
My world is lost without you
For you are my first love, and
First love never ever dies

Whenever I feel lonely
I'm thinking of you only
One last kiss and then we said goodbye

The love I left behind me
Comes back to remind me
That you were my first love, and
First love never ever dies

The love I left behind me
Comes back to remind me
That you were my first love, and
First love never ever dies

And if you're thinking of me
And you find that you still love me
There's no use to go on living lies

Let's hurry to each other
For there could be no other
Yes, you were my first love, and
First love never ever dies

First love never ever dies

In 1938 Jerry Fuller was born in Fort Worth, Texas. His father was a carpenter who had a voice like Bing Crosby, while his mom sang like Patti Page. As a musical family, at the age of eleven, Jerry and his brother Bill became were billed as The Fuller Brothers. His mother arranged for them to appear at school, churches, talent contests, minstrel shows and jamborees. Out of high school, Fuller wrote a rockabilly tune called “I Found A New Love” and got it recorded Lin records in 1958.
Jerry Fuller moved to Los Angeles in 1959 getting work as a demo singer. With this exposure he got signed with Four Star Music and Challenge Records to write and record songs. His first recording with Challenge in 1959 was a doo-wop tune called “Betty My Angel”, which became a Top 20 hit in San Bernardino, California. That same year he recorded an uptempo cover of the Patti Page pop classic, “Tennessee Waltz.” It went Top 20 in Toronto, Hartford, Connecticut, and Jacksonville, Florida. It became Fuller’s biggest hit on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #63.
In 1960 Jerry Fuller wrote “A Wonder Like You” which peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 for Ricky Nelson. Also in 1960, Jerry Fuller was on tour with the Champs of “Tequila” fame. While in New Mexico, Fuller discovered Glen Campbell on stage at an Albuquerque nightclub. Fuller was amazed with Campbell’s vocal and guitar talent. He persuaded Campbell to relocate to Los Angeles. Campbell’s skills quickly led him to become part of LA’s legendary Wrecking Crew. Campbell assisted Fuller with a demo of a song Jerry wrote called “Travelin’ Man”, written for Sam Cooke. But the demo found its way to Ricky Nelson who made it a #1 hit record in the spring of 1961. Nelson would record 19 of Fuller’s songs, including two Top Ten hits in 1962, “Young World” (#5) and “It’s Up To You” (#4). Fuller, Campbell, and Dave Burgess of the Champs sang back-up on these recordings.
While Fuller was at Four Star Music as a writer from 1959 to 1967, he wrote over 400 songs that were recorded by many recording acts of the era. Fuller has recorded a couple of songs in late 1960 into 1961 that got little attention. But in the summer of 1961 he recorded “Guilty of Loving You/First Love Never Dies”. “Guilty Of Lovin’ You” peaked at #94 on the Billboard Hot 100, making #5 in Billings, Montana, and Top 20 in Dallas. But it was the flip side, “First Love Never Dies” that got on the charts in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle and Vancouver. And here on CKWX the tune had its best chart performance in North America, peaking at #13. The song did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100.
